There's a thread (here) specific for those who filed AOS from K-1 or other family based visas. Usually those cases are transfered to CSC and right now they are a little bit backlogged. That thread might be more useful for some. Good luck everybody

Is this weird? We just got notice that our interview is scheduled for next month, but we've never heard anything on the EAD.

Anything can happen with the USCIS.

Some people attend their interviews and receive their GC without ever even holding an EAD.

Besides looking at your timeline, you appear to be moving very fast and are on par to be finished within around 70 days or so and most EAD approvals only come in at around the 60 day mark.

-Dec 2006: Arrived with an F1 visa

-Dec 2007: Met USC.

-Dec 2009: Got Engaged.

-Jan 2010: Fell out of Status.

-Oct 2010: Married USC.

-Feb 2012: Filed I-130/AOS

I-130/AOS Timeline

Day 0: 02/25/12: Mailed concurrent I-130/AOS Package to the Chicago Lockbox

Day 2: 02/27/12: Package arrived at the Chicago Lockbox.

Day 5: 03/01/12: Email acceptance confirmation received for Forms: I-130, I-485 & I-765.

Day 13: 03/09/12: NOA1s received for Forms: I-130, I-485 & I-765. Biometrics letter also received and scheduled for March 27th.

Day 24: 03/20/12: Email notification for RFE.

I had a plan! He was supposed to get the EAD, get his driver's license, then I could add him to my car insurance BEFORE the interview.

Well, I'm still excited to get the interview notice so I won't whine too much. But it was a good plan.

Congrats on your interview. I've been looking at the trends and yours fit (interview notification around 45 days after "priority date"); so expect the EAD notication around 60 days. That should still leave you a small window for the DL and insurance. What is your interview date?

Funny how we always look for a little detail to freak us out :no: (first, we worried about them receiving the package, then why it took so long to cash the checks, etc...). You will be fine, a month is plenty of time...

Well, we sent off our additional evidence today that we got the RFE on. Hopefully USCIS will begin processing our case again soon after receiving it. This coming Sunday will mark the 30-day point since we did my wife's biometric appointment, and next Wed will mark the 60-day point in our cases overall.

Still no word on the EAD, but I'm not overly concerned yet, just anxious to get it because my wife really wants to be able to work. I would like to get her a social security card so we can add her to a few things that require a SSN.

2010-04-15: Married!

2010-05-07: Physical Done by Civil Surgeon

2012-05-10: I-130 & I-485 Sent to USCIS

2012-05-11 (Day 01): FedEx Delivery Notification Email Received

Hopefully you will get your interview notice as soon as they receive the RFE response. Expect good news next week; the Biometrics should have cleared already.

Received this today by email & text----On July 3, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

Wondering if this is a good thing :unsure:
