Yay I got approved, here is my story. It won't be as detailed as Vanessa's but it gives a pretty good outline I think :innocent:

My interview is 11am. I got there at 1050am.

Go to MLC Centre level 10, going through security check, switch off mobile phone and other electric appliances. They put my bag in their storage and gave me a number for that. I'm only allowed to take my documents and wallets.

Me and another girl and guy waited there for the lift. After 2 minutes, a lady takes us into the lift and straight to level 59.

On Level 59, a lady behind counter asked for my passport, ticks it off her list and let me into a heavy gate.

Then take a ticket (They didn't tell you that) and take a seat, there was 20+ people waiting there already.

Waited 10 mins saw my number being called, then a lady behind the counter asked me to get the documents ready (as listed on pkt 4 email) and gave them to her one by one as requested. and asked me when are you flying to USA. Got my finger prints there, then she asked if I created a profile online. I said Yes. Then finally she said : it's all good, please take as seat and you will be called again.

I waited for 30-40 mins, while listening to other people's stories... (haha I don't know why but the officers at these half enclosed cubicles use headphones, their voice is on loudspeaker, everyone can hear what they were asking, and can hear some answers too if this interviewee is also loud) So much for privacy eh?

They asked:

Were you married before, do you have any children.

Have you been to USA.

Have you lived in any other countries.

how did you two meet?

How did you keep in touch?

What's your plan for wedding?

USA Fiance's job and income.

and that's it, don't even ask for proof of relationship.

When it was my turn there was even less questions. and it was all good. They gave me a white slip: Congratulations, your visa has been approved! etc

I asked them twice (different person) if I can come pick it up. They said no. But they use express post, one said it will get processed within 5 working days, one said it wil arrive after 5 working days.

Now I just wait.

Hi Athena13,

Congratulations! It's a good feeling when you walk out of there, isn't it? The first thing I remarked on was that there was little privacy. I had this misconceived idea that interviews were conducted in an office without an audience.

I'm packed and ready to fly out. Got all the hard work done early on, so now I can sit back and relax.

Regards,

Gerald

Getting your visa and entering the US is a real landmark, but there's a lot more paperwork and interviews to do after you get there!

yeah it's a new thing we have to do now, instead of giving them a self-address express envelop. We go online ustraveldocs.com to create a profile, just a formal way to give them our address I think. SO they post it to that address.

That's weird, because I didn't create a profile prior to my interview (I think?). I remember going to that website and getting a bar-coded voucher to take to the Post Office. Also, my Pkt 4 stipulated that I provide a Platinum Express Envelope.
