hi, i received this email today from USCIS "on april 24,2012 we transferred this case to your UCIS local field office for additional processing. YOu will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you"

Does anyone know what this means? I filed a I-130 in Nov. 2011 for my husband who is in Mexico. I know it's not a NOA2 because nowhere does it say i've been approved but does this mean i got a RFE? I'm so confused... :crying:

you're gearing up for a local interview, the USCIS wants to talk with the USCitizen Petitioner.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

2 to 3 months from national to local

then another month for scheduling (we love postal mail)

then 2 to 3 months after the interview to get back to national.

Here is my own experience which has just happened on Sep 2011. After I received this case transfer, about 2 weeks I got a letter to attend interview which is about a month from the day I received the letter. So 1 month and half so far, give it 2 months.

My CO was so nice, not even ask me any difficult question. She just went through the I-130 and correct any mistakes which she found a few

Can you believe it? on her desk are all, I mean everything I ever sent to USCIS. She said "if your documents is this thick, you are legitimate". I replied Yes Mam

After that she stamped "Approved on ....". before I left she told me I will get an approval letter in the mail. It appeared 10 days later.

Hope it helps.

the same thing happened to me, i got my case transferred to the local salt lake city uscis office. we received notice that he had to go to an interview about a month after they transferred it. i was already here in mexico. dont stress out, always remember everything happens for a reason but one tip i can give you is take pictures of you and your husband to the interview. my husband, by accident, had a letter i wrote him and a page full of pictures in between the documents he handed to the guy doing the interview. he read the whole letter and after that told my husband the interview was done and that we were approved. the entire interview was basically questions about our marriage, how we met, how we keep in touch. they wanted to prove it was a real marriage, which it is. good luck and im sure everything will work out fine!

thank you for sharing. I have only heard bad stories about the petitioner getting an interview in the usa. Now I have one good story to remember. How did you get noa2 in sept 2011. And now citizenship?

They either want to talk about the relationship or the petitioner or beneficiary's past dealing with immigration.

It will probably add three or four months to your overall timeline.

Does your husband have any past ngative history with immigration? Did you include evidence of a bona fide relationship with the petition?

have confident in yourself if they are interviewing you.

hey! if you have to bring 100lbs of evidence, then do it

i have over 10gb of photos and videos + another 15gb raw video of my wedding.

i would bring some important physical evidence and my whole digital collection of photos and videos.

then you got your facebook you can show the officer and also offer him to be your friend

and then.....

just give him the truman show...

I received the same message back in Dec. 2011. I was not asked to appear for an interview I was only asked to send in proof of bona fide marriage and any documents my husband had for his "catch & release" which we don't but I wrote a letter explaining we did not have any paperwork. I sent in the documents and got the approval letter on FEB. 9!! So basically I believe its an RFE!

WOW never knew they requested petitioners on this end. Kind of cool. You get interviewed and your hunni gets interviewed there. Why doesn't that happen to us all? (Just saying. This seems fascinating I must follow you I am intrigued.

And I am sure you will be fine with all your evidence and confidence I can tell.
