Hello,

My spouse interview is at Mumbai consulate. I (US citizen spouse) have submitted all the necessary documents such as original birth certificate, marriage certificate, DS-230, etc to NVC? Do I need to still submit all these documents at local VFS center again? Also what about the medical reports and Police clearance certificate? Will those has to be submitted at VFS or can be brought during the interview?

Please advise.

Thanks!

I've confirmed with VFS that the medical results need to be submitted to the VFS office 4 to 10 days prior to the date of the interview. I'll confirm with them if we need to submit copies of the documents we submitted to NVC again. As for the PCC, if you hadn't submitted that to NVC, then yes, you need to submit that at VFS. Their working hours are Mon thru Fri 8 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 3 pm.

Just confirmed with VFS that for the documents you submitted in your DS-230 package, if you had included photocopies too, then you don't need to re-submit 'em to VFS.

Thanks Divs. Yes, I have submitted originals and photocopies of birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport biographic page and 2 2x2 photographs. I guess I just need to submit medical examination and PCC certificate then? My spouse lives in Hyderabad. I guess she can just submit those documents to VFS there then? Also what about the form DS-230 itself? Do we need to submit a copy of that too at the VFS center?

Yes, she can submit it at VFS Hyderabad, but you would want to ensure she submits it well in advance. As for the DS-230, I don't think so, as the beneficiary will be signing part II of the DS-230 at the consulate.
