Hi everyone,

My fiance has filled out all the paperwork and called to schedule an interview however Juarez said that she needs to schedule an interview within the paramaters of the letter (packet 3) sent out to me. I never recieved a packet even after calling an being told to wait till 3 months has past since it was sent. We patiently waited and was told in the meantime that all the info was online and I didn't actually need to have the packet. Apparantly the packet does have "reccomended interview dates"? We took our time because we wanted to make sure the paperwork is all in order before calling for the interview but it is frustrating that we keep getting contradictory info from the consolate in Juarez as well as the New Hampshire office that gave me an invoice number and beneficiary number. I guess my question is do I need to have the packet (all research to date seems to imply that it is not neccesary to have the physical packet sent to me)! The next question is (and I know it is possibly subjective to our details) how do I get the consolate to actually send me the packet or give us the information we need to go forward? Any input would be greatly appreciated and also thanx to the moderators of this forum and all the people making comments for the wealth of information ... props to everyone here :)

The 'packet' is just a letter. It has the links to the websites where you can find the forms, instructions and schedule your appointments. You need the letter when you go to Juarez for your ASC and interview. They usually send the letter out to both the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico. I do not know if you can show up at the consulate a day early and have them print out the letter you need or not. They used to do it, but I have heard conflicting stories lately. Some say you still can get it there, and some have said they will not give it to you anymore.

You will have to contact the consulate and tell them neither of you received the letter and you have waited months. Let them know you understand you NEED the letter for your appointment and interview, and you would appreciate it if they could resend it to you. Ask them directly if you can get it by going to the information window there and asking for it once you arrive in Juarez. Stress the fact you have been waiting months and would like to be able to finally schedule your appointments.

In the meantime, here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html , instructions(very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/K1%20PACKET%20COMPLETE%20_July2011%20UPDATES_.pdf , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

Also, read through the reviews to see how the process went for others and how they scheduled the ASC and interview to fit in with getting the medical: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Mexico&cty=&dfilter=5

Thank you very much for the reply. The link you sent with the phone numbers is great because I got a different phone number off the consolate website which I finally figured out today goes to a 3rd party that just monitor and answers status updates. I will try the other numbers tommorow and look into the reviews of the ASC process. Thank you again :)

Can you send me the phone numbers you have, my fiance leaves on wed for his interview and we still do not have the invitation letter that is required. I have been calling the 656-325-6300 number all day. They are so mean and they said their system is down so they cannot answer any of my questions. Im just freaking out. Thanks in advance.
