what is an invitation letter?

I keep hearing about an invitation letter all over these posts, what form is it? Who issues it? Is it clearly titled invitation letter on the letterhead? Is it noa2 or the letter from nvc saying your application is ready for processing at consulate?

I called the juarez consulate and the operator told me he doesnt know what it is.

It is a letter that the consulate should be sending you. Mine was supposedly sent out a few weeks ago and I still have not received it. I contacted the consualte about getting an additional letter sent out and they said to contact the NVC. the NVC told me that they have nothing to do with it. My appointment is next week and supposedly we cant interview without it. I hopeeeee that the information center there can reprint the letter because they said it is IMPOSSIBLE to resend it to me.

i thought that invitation letter was something you gave someone to come and visit you from another country for visitor visa?

and the interview letter was appointment for the interview that you had to get from the embassy?

From what i read in these posts the invitation letter is needed at the medical and asc. I would like to know the title of the letter or its form number for example i-797. Im thinking the letter doesnt even say invitation letter but something else sorry for bad text im using my phone

Yes, you need it when you go to your medical, ASC and interview. It is called the invitation letter because you did not used to schedule and ASC appointment or interview. It was an open interview schedule, meaning you picked whatever date was best for you to go to Juarez, showed up early at the consulate with your invitation letter and were let in to have a K-1 interview. They used to do the fingerprinting stuff right there too back then.

Anyway, the letter comes from CDJ, so the NVC has nothing to do with it, and I am not sure why CDJ would tell someone to contact them. I guess they had no clue and just wanted to get off the phone quickly. You can contact them and let them know you have not received the letter from them and can they resend it or can you get a copy of it directly from the consulate when you arrive in Juarez. Let them know you understand how to find the instructions and forms from their website online, but that you also know the letter CDJ sends to you once they receive your case is very important and needed for all your appointments and interview.

Thats it! the answer to my question, you hit It right on the dot, thanks. Now you can see what am talking about, no where on this letter specifically says invitation letter. Its just a letter with instructions on how to proceed, the good news is i have it! And about the person i called in consulate that told me he didnt know what it was, well it was late in the afternoon and perhaps he wanted to get home to his family. Never did he realize im just trying to do the same thing. Thanks for your help.

Invitation letter was VERY easy to get! My fiance just had to go to the information Center at the consulate and they gave it to him right away!!
