There is no actual 'packet'. An invitation letter will be mailed out to the USC in the US and the beneficiary in Mexico. Sometimes the letter never makes it to the Mexican address, but the USC can scan and email the letter to their fiance(e) to print out and use. They will need it for their interview. The letter contains links to the instructions and forms on the Juarez consulate website. You can call the NVC and get the CDJ case number, invoice # and beneficiary ID you will need to start filling out the DS-260 and making the appointments.

See this thread about calling NVC: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/318913-call-cd-juarez-to-make-sure-they-received-our-k1-approved-file/

These are the instructions you need to follow: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/K1%20PACKET%20COMPLETE%20_July2011%20UPDATES_.pdf

These are the forms needed: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html

You can also contact CDJ directly to inquire about them sending off the letter you need: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez

Call 603.334.0700 go to the option to pay the MRV fee (350.00), then wait about 24hrs. Proceed by filling out ds 260 and scheduling an appt at the same number.

Just want to add, if you wait until after April 13th, the fee is going down to $240 from $350.

See this thread I posted the link to above: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/318913-call-cd-juarez-to-make-sure-they-received-our-k1-approved-file/

You just need to get the CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID from NVC. Then you can begin to fill out the DS-260 and schedule appointments. Keep in mind though, the invitation letter CDJ sends out is very much needed for your appointment and interview in Juarez. You might want to schedule the interview so there is enough time to receive the letter first.

Jay Kay do you know how long it takes to get the invitation letter and does th eusc get one also?

I think on average it is 4 to 6 weeks. They seem to be slow there. They should send one out to the USC and beneficiary. A lot of the time the beneficiary never receives it in Mexico because the mail is so unreliable there. You can simply give her a copy of the one you receive. There have been a few posts here recently from people saying they never received the letter. You can contact CDJ and ask them if they sent the instruction letter that is needed for the interview out to you yet. Ask them if you have not received it by the time you have your interview, can you get it printed out from the consulate's information window. They have to power to do that for you, but have heard sometimes they just won't.

The first post of this thread shows what the letter looks like that you are waiting on: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298777-ds-260-form-as-of-march-1st-2011/

Jay Kay I got a letter from the Consulate informing us to complete the forms and call to make an appointment. Is that the invitation letter and if not I have seen some other posts on here that are saying they are giving out dates within a couple of weeks. What happens if we get an interview date and it is before we receive the invitation.

Yes, that is the one. It just has the links to the forms and websites. It looks similar to the one posted in this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/298777-ds-260-form-as-of-march-1st-2011/page__view__findpost__p__4521789
