I am pretty sure Hanhuas visa to USA is good fro 6 months? But I have seen little to no information on a child under the age of 16?

Her daughter, Yuxian, is 14. Her name was on our application for K1 visa. We are going to have her come in July, to let her complete one more year of school in China. Does she have to have her own interview in GUZ? Please advise.thanks...todd

did the child submit any packet 3 docs ?

did the child get any medical exam?

NO to the above?

then the CHILD MUST go through K-2 Follow To Join Processing at GUZ IV.

I beg of you, use the two search tools here - find my input on 'how to do' .

Thanks !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

First off, everyone here, stay positive and dont give up! My beautiful Hanhua and I married on December 19!:-)

I thought it was never going to happen!

So, here is my question.

Hanhua's daughter is soon to be 15 in May. What do we need to bring her here?

Is there a link?

Can my wife do as much as she can in terms of paper work before she leaves for China?

How do we co-ordinate the dates of her departure from the USA and her return with Yuxian?

HELP!:-).....todd

K2 would be the obvious one.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Moved from K1 Process & Procedures to Bringing Family Members of US Citizens to America forum.

Congratulations on the wedding. As others have said, K2 follow to join is the course you will want to take.

First, and I assume you know this, your wife cannot leave until she does her AOS and has received her AP. Secondly, based on your post it seems that you did not file any paperwork for her daughter. As others have said, you need to start a new application for a K2. And she will have to go to an interview like everyone else. It will be almost impossible to co-ordinate any travel plans at this time. When you are further down the road ( an interview has been scheduled) only then should you make plans.A K2 is usually approved without too much hassle, because most everything was depended upon the mother, but you never know what can crop up.

You qualify for a K-2 follow to Join casefile,

as the interview date on the mother is 2011-11-22 .

So, here's what you do.

download a packet 3 from the GUZ IV website, at

http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

then fill out the OF-169, write out a COVER LETTER stating that you are submitting a K-2 Follow To Join case,

and submit all into GUZ IV via postal mail (I suggest EMS)

Then wait a bit - GUZ IV will send out a packet 4 with an interview letter having the casefile # and the appointment date.

Once she has the interview letter in hand, she can go in for the medical, also pay the visa fee at CITIC BANK.

The good news? Visa fee will have dropped by then, so that's a plus.

You did list the child in any DS-230, DS-156?? sent off to GUZ IV, prior, yes?

Good Luck !

She wont be coming in June. You need to file a I-130 petition and wait for interview etc.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

It's April 3, 2012. It would be a small miracle for her to complete the immigration process by June. She may be able to get a visitor visa to temporarily visit the US, but it may be difficult because her mother recently immigrated to the US.

What is it that you want to accomplish? Getting her a green card? Getting her a brief trip to the US?

Disagree with Inky. You are still within 12 months of the issuance of the K1 for your wife, so you can start the follow-to-join procedure for a K2 for the child.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I answered the OP to the fact - they never said they applied for K-2 follow to join they asked how to get the daughter to the USA. To get her to the USA would be file the I-130. Had they said they filed a K-2 follow to join my answer would have been different.

It's probably best to discuss your stepdaughter's case in a single thread to form a more complete picture. Starting different threads to deal with the same case will result in people wasting their time answering the same questions in two different places. Additionally, facts omitted in one thread because you mentioned it earlier in another thread is going to lead to the wrong answers.

A moderator should combine your two different but related threads.

Curious, two days ago she was 14. Today, she is 15. Did she have a birthday today or yesterday?
