You could try to find a US law firm that will sponsor you for a work visa, they may need someone versed in Egyptian law if they have international clients. But your best option is probably the yearly Diversity Visa Lottery: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_1322.html

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

yes but that yearly option will 100% depends on luck .. but it's still an option ..

but , i have another solution and it got alot of questions .. for example .. i can go and get a tourism visa .. and i go to USA and leave my wife in egypt .. in that case , can i get a work ? can i study at any college ? what if i can do that ? will i have a temporary residence ? and if i get it .. will i be able to bring up my wife to come to me ?

Hi, so you want to immigrate to the US with your spouse?

I am guessing you have no family here?

If you have a tourist visa it is for tourism (sometimes you may do short courses) and for you only.

There are many student visas and internationl study is very expensive.

Student visas:

M visa- for vocational training

F visa- for higher education

** F-2 visas are for spouses and children of F-1 visa holders.

Options for you for immigration(maybe):

Diversity lottery

H1B Visa - the primary US Work Visa for professionals & students from all over the world or in the USA, who work in specialty occupations. Valid up to 6 years, dual intent visa (can apply for Green Card).

I cannot edit my post anymore, I took too long I guess. I really should not have posted half of what I wanted to write

If you persue any of these visas, most of them have spousal recipricotes. IE/ if you have a H visa your wife can apply for a H4 as a dependant, if you have a M visa your wife can have an M2 , F visa, F2.

The main issue is getting the visa.

Edit: also you would need to look into the restrictions of the visa that your wife would get , IE/ can she work if she gets a H4 ( I think the answer is no).

I do not mean to be rude, but studying in the US is very expensive, plus living, plus having a possibly not working spouse, have you looked into the financial implications for yourself? Or is that a non-issue?

For work visa - you have you get a job in the USA then - that company pays their lawyer to get you the work visa.

For student visa - you have to apply to the US university / college that accepts foreign students and helps with the visa process, when you are accepted and enrolled you would apply for the student visa with the papers the school gives you, to your US embassy in your country.

I never ever said it could not be done.

No-one on here should / will tell you how to do it illegally.

What your friend has done risks his livelyhood, risks him getting a ban from coming back to the US or leaving (IE if he needs to go back home and then tries to re-enter he will not be allowed. In my opinion what he has done is stupid. There are legitimate ways of coming to the US, as you know and those are the best ways to go about it. Of course people do it all the time but the laws are in place for a reason. Why risk it?

Step 1) Decide if you want to come to study or try to obtain work in your field.

Step 2) If you want to study, find an institution, apply, then apply for the appropriate visa(s).

Step 2)a) If you want to work, find an employer, then apply for the appropriate visa(s).

Step 3) Apply for the appropriate visa for your spouse.

Remember you may not be able to work whilst on a student visa, there may be work limitations, can your spouse work whilst here, could you afford time wise to work and study? These are all things I would consider. Similarly, when you apply for a student visa international students are responsible for all educational and personal expenses for the duration of their F-1 status at University. In order to issue an I-20, which i required for an F1 visa you have to prove you can support yourself while there (show means).

I will not comment on the issue of money again, as it seems you are well aware of it and or believe you have enough for these processes. I will however tell you that when my partner and I were looking at university as an international student for myself it was very expensive and we were looking at around $20,000 USD for tuition alone.

-----

Taken from the university of Minnesota website:

011-12 average costs for student living alone

Full-time tuition, fees, and books and supplies* (9 months) $19,336

Mandatory health insurance (12 months) $1,900

Living expenses, including room and board and personal/miscellaneous expenses (transportation, clothing, entertainment, etc.)(12 months) $13,839

Total $35,075

As said previously, there no easy way for you to immigrate. Three most common ways are :

- marriage / family based (looks like won't work for you)

- work based (employer sponsors you for green card)

- diversity visa lottery

Student or work visa (H-1B or L-1) give you right to live in US for a while, but there is no clear path to permanent residency. Those are temporary non-immigrant visas.

May not look good but that's what it is.

maybe try to immigrate to Canada I heard it's a lot faster and less stress to immigrate there as long that u have degree and money. My cousin they immigrate there not too long ago and they got approved. then after you moved there it's easier for u to get a visitor visa here in the US or if your Canadian citizen u don't need any visitor visa just passport(within 3yrs you could apply for Canadian Citizen there not like here in the US it takes 5yrs)...anyways Canada are doing a lot more better in terms of the economy situation.

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

There is some truth here. When I worked for NASA, a coworker went from Egypt to Windsor, Ontario Canada with his engineering degree, became a Canadian citizen, then got a work visa and green card for the US. He then studied and became a US citizen. The key was that he had a highly skilled background with a specialized degree. You may be able to follow a similar path.

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.
