Hello I'm back with question just as I suspected. Please believe I have the instructions that go along with the form at my side but still somewhat confused. Saylin, I have questions about my I864 and my father's whom will be my joint sponsor. :help::star:

MY I864: 1. In my I864, I am stuck on Q21 about household size. So far I have myself, and my spouse whom is the intending immigrant. I am stuck on 21G where it asks if I have siblings, parents, with the same principal address who are combining their income with mine by submitting form I864A. So I live at home, with both my parents, and my 2 younger sisters. I plan to use my father's income as my joint sponsor, but you and others have told me to have him fill out I864, not I864A. My question is who exactly do I count in my household size since I live with my family members as I stated before, including my dad whom will be my joint sponsor. Is it okay to include my dad here even though he will be doing the I864 and not I864A. I am guessing I should write 4 for this question which includes, mom, dad, sister1, and sister2. Yes?? The total on line h. would be 6 yes?

2. On Q24b where it says income you are using from any other person who was counted in your household, I am guessing my dad's name would go on these lines since he is the joint sponsor, yes?

3. On 24d it says persons listed above have completed Form I864A. Here I am confused if I should check it off since my dad will again file I864 not I864A.

____

DAD JOINT SPONSOR I864: 1. Now for my dad's household size, his household income would be 6 right since my parents still claim be as their dependent even though I am over 21. yes?

2. On 24b, does my dad write down me?? Since I am the petitioner and I will also be filing out I864 and I am also part of his household size? Or should he just leave it blank since he is MY joint sponsor. So confused! And again on 24d should I check that off, I guess that depends on your answer to 24b.

Please help me. Sorry if this is long and confusing, I am just as confused. :(

The only reason it wasn't 300 is we cut down on the things we were adding... it was nearly 400 pages at one point....

Wow... laughing.gif If you had sent those 400 pages, you would have shut down NVC for a month :P

Please help me. Sorry if this is long and confusing, I am just as confused. :(

Note: I'm not 100% positive on the following answers, I'm just answering using my knowledge and logical deductions. When it comes to joint sponsors and how to fill out the I-864s, I'm not too confident with my answers. I'd ask a few (min. 5) operators at NVC and see what they say.

You:

1. For the household size question, you don't count your mother or sisters as they're not contributing income. But, since your father is contributing his income, you would put just 1 here. So you would just have 1 in a, 1 in b, 1 in g, all the rest 0, with h being 3.

2. Yes, you would put your father's information here.

3. Yes, looking at the form, it seems like your father will need to complete the I-864A, and not the I-864. But I don't see anywhere on the I-864A asking for HIS household size, as he has dependents (your mother, sisters, and you). Now I'm getting confused laughing.gif

Dad:

1. Yes, his household size would be 6. But like I said, I don't see a question on the I-864A asking for his household size....

2. If he uses the I-864A, then there is no question like this on the form.

Good idea! And make sure you call AT LEAST three or five times. The answers operators give will always vary, so be careful; don't just call once and listen to what that one person says.

Yup, they probably got to the email too soon. Have him re-send the DS-3032 email asap. Next time around, it should be accepted.

I have spoken to only ONE operator at NVC but he says it is I864A and I have also re-read the instructions and it seems I864A is the right form for my father. I am guessing his IRS transcript will show his household size. Hope this helps other members.

We didn't send much evidence so you can have the space we didn't use. Although if you are the one holding the rest of us up, you need to come to Canada and buy (disgusting) food to send to Saylin.

Seriously, why does China require so much evidence of relationship?

:o You think poutine is disgusting?!

And China is one of the higher fraud country so lots of evidence is required. Canada is one of the lowest fraud country so no evidence needed.
