I was hoping to get a case number last month but oh well <_< . My petition was approved on January 19. I talked to an operator today and she told me to scan my NOA2 and email it to the NVC asking them to assign a case number. She said that it had likely already arrived but hadn't been entered yet. I'm definitely going to send the email but will it actually help?

I wouldn't resort to that yet. Since last summer, NVC has slowed down incredibly on assigning case numbers. Although within the last few days, it's gone down to about 2 weeks (from NOA2 to case number assigned), so you should be getting yours soon! Just keep calling every day and asking for a case number.

It's normal. It can take a few days. I've even seen a week or two. Just keep calling NVC and the AVR to see when the package leaves. Then you can track it on DHL :)

Congrats! The time to the interview date depends on which consulate you're going to, so you might want to do a timeline search and check your region-specific forum.

Yay, grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Getting the interview date always varies. Probably within the next month though. Just keep calling NVC (and now DOS) every single day until you get the good news :)

Thanks Alizon! I hope we can get an interview date in March. :)

Thank Saylin! :) You have been a great help to us at NVC stage. Thanks for always answering my queries. You know what we have been RFE'd regarding the Federal tax returns, and we mailed it on Feb 1 and when my husband called later today, Feb 1, our case is complete. Do you think they will re-open our case the moment they receive our response to our RFE? I hope not.
