I-129F, Question #20 (K-1 Visa)

Hi all,

I was just reading through the forums again today and noticed that someone said that Juarez, Mexico is the only location to do K-1 Visas. I checked my paperwork so many times over and over again before sending it in, that I know I didn't leave any unchecked boxes etc. However, her and I looked over the Mexican Embassy locations for Mexico and chose Guadalajara as our choice (because of safety etc). Therefore, on Question number 20, I put Guadalajara for the location we will apply for the Visa abroad.

Now that I am finding out that Only Juarez can process K-1's (assuming this is still absolute fact), does this discrepency cause a delay do you think? Or will the powers to be automatically forward it to the appropriate location in Mexico? I noticed on my NOA1, there is no mention of what office location will handle the Visa in Mexico, so perhaps Guadalajara will just forward it to Juarez upon receipt.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

It is an actual fact. Juarez is the only consulate that handles fiance(e) visas. I do not think it matters what you put on the I-129F petition. It will be sent to Juarez as they are the only consulate in Mexico that does the interviews for K-1 visas. I would not worry about it.

Juarez IS the only consulate that does K-1s. It will not be an issue. It will be sent to Juarez and no where else.

Thank you very much for the information, that is very helpful and elimates any possible anxiety over that. However I will say, I am not happy I have to go to such an unsafe area for the Visa (more for her safety). But, I will happily oblige to go anywhere needed to bring her home.
