We have decided to apply for a K1 visa. Looking now at the evidence we have, I am afraid there might be a problem in this area. I have the itinerary for my trip but not the tickets (I went on a scholarship program and did not buy them myself). We have a very large number of e-mails and also a long record of Skype calls, mostly Skype to her phone. However, it would appear that I have lost my passport with the visa and stamp in it while moving out of my old apartment :( I have a copy of the passport itself as well as a copy of the visa (before it was stamped) and my birth certificate. Assuming I do not succeed in finding the passport, do we have even have a chance? FYI we have sent in no paperwork as of yet.

Generally, no. They will want to see the stamp, as it is primary evidence that you entered the country to visit her.

There may be other means around this (i.e obtaining a flight manifest), but I haven't read anyone from the boards who has done it successfully. There are cases for people who cross frequently (ex: Mexico or Canada) and did not have stamps. They were approved fine, but again, this is a different case. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on it. Good luck. Maybe try looking through all of your belongings again? Sometimes they get stuck in the oddest and most unlikely of places.

Did you try suitcase and backpack pockets? I did that once.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if that would work.

If you have that, I would either call USCIS and ask them what they suggest or to consult an immigrations lawyer.

Or, someone with more knowledge than me can pipe in. lol

Still have not found anything. I called the USCIS and the only useful piece of info I got from them is that they do not do refunds :(

why do you not have boarding passes?! you need one to get on all flights AND they give you back a little receipt.. did you just throw it away?

Also I have email receipts from plane tickets I bought while in India (Lucknow to Mumbai) and lots of photos of me standing in front of the Taj Mahal and other Indian locals. Could this help?

Some pictures of you and YOUR FIANCEE are good for secondary evidence but they will not stand on their own.

It appears to me like you should make another trip before filing as you do really need some primary evidences. Those e-email itinerary/flight reservations are useless.

p.s. We had about 35 flights in the last two years to see each other and we also did not keep a SINGLE boarding pass. Seriously who ever keeps those unless you knew from the start you need it as evidence for immigration to the US?

Lucky, we had all our passport stamps though which is probably the most important evidence.
