What about the I-134? I am getting all of that information together now to send to my fiance for her interview. I have a question regarding the addresses that they're asking for.

On my petition, I have her mailing address and my mailing address listed, but on the application they're asking for our permanent residence addresses. So, I should put our physical addresses down, right? Do these addresses have to match what is on her passport or my passport/ID?

Another thing, on the income section, I am hourly + commissions. So, do I enter the total compensation for 2011, or do I put my base wages at full time pay without commission?

Also, at the end near the signature, there is a line to "Enter Relationship" between ..., and the Food Stamp Act, as amended. & I certify under penalty of perjury under...

If you hover over the blank in that paragraph, when using Adobe Reader, it says to "Enter Relationship".

What relationship?

The I-134 is used by the consulate for K-1 visas, It is superceded by the I-864 after you get married and when you adjust status. For a K-1 you need to provide TWO affidavits, one for the visa and one for the adjustment (green card)

Passports do not have addresses. The addresses they are looking for are you residences where you reside...live, now. They do not have to match anything else, they have to be accurate.

I thought so - I was just making sure since I've had to use different types for different things in this process (passport, US -> RU visa, RU -> US visa, petition, I-134, etc). I know that the passport doesn't have an address on it. I meant the place that it was issued*

The I-134 isn't needed unless it is requested for her interview anyway. So, I'm getting it ready, just in case. It does take a while to send documents while she is at her interview...

Thanks for the help

Be careful.

An affidavit of support is most definitely REQUIRED at the interview. You do not necessarily have to submit an I-134. The I-134 is a pre-printed convenience form which can be used as an affidavit of support, or you can write your own. Most people use it just because it is easy. It is basically a cover letter/summary for what you attach to it.

You will definitely need to provide proof of support at her interview. You will not be able to send her documents "while she is at" the interview. You need to send them before the interview and they will collect them from her before the interview.

The I-134 is not enforceable, and looking at the current manual, and the information being put out by DOS, they are putting less weight on the document. However, as long as K visa's are non-immigrant visas, they have to settle for a less than satisfactory document.

Evidence of financial support (Form I-134, Affidavit of Support, may be requested)

However, you pretty much rely on that document being requested.

Yes because if the topic is I-864s you cannot talk about I-134s What were you thinking?

You must discuss only the topic you started with OR guns, pie and hot RUB women. That's it! Anything else and it is splitsville for you!
