I am so sorry to hear about your RFE. It seems that USCIS has started sending them regularly now even when a lot of evidence has been provided initially. So annoying! I think your additional evidence sounds great. I would send anything you have from both your previous address and your current address that shows you have been living in the same household all this time. Hopefully you will get an approval right away since 6 months have already passed. At least you know that your file is being worked on, and typically decisions are made soon after the RFE responses. Good luck! Crossing my fingers for your speedy approval!

menina,

Thank you so much for caring! We're going to send everything we have - we figure it couldn't hurt, right? At this point, more might be better. Our RFE packet might end up thicker than our original I-751 packet but at least we'd know we sent and did everything we could. I really hope that we get the approval after they review the RFE packet...

Hi,

Just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the people who take the time to update these very useful threads with such great timeline info. It is so helpful and so appreciated, thanks!

I'm a December 2011 Vermont I751 filer and was looking on this site to try and get an idea of approximate processing times. It seems Vermont are taking about 8 months right now?

Hi Coco!

I was just looking on the August 2011 filers thread on this forum and it seems that a lot of people only got their cards in June 2012, so is taking about 10 months at Vermont right now

I agree! Honestly, sending stuff you already sent can't hurt either in case they lost something. I'm waiting anxiously for your good news!

Thank you so much you guys!!! ^___^ You really help me stay positive. I really, really appreciate it!!!

I feel a little more confident now. My wonderful hubby asked his commander to write a statement verifying that we lived together at our old house and that we're still living together at our new house, that he has seen us together and talked to us at company and battalion events and that we're happily married --- AND he actually sent it back to us today!!! My hubby also found LES (Military Leave and Earnings Statements) - which show that he was and is still paying for Family SGLI (my life insurance) and that he is getting the "with dependents" rate for BAQ (it specifically says "spouse" under dependent - we have ones from 2009, 2010, 2011 AND 2012 which is so lucky because my hubby's LES are only available from August 2011 online)! We're also sending his old SGLI and Record of Emergency Data from when we first got married (with our old address) and the updated one (with our new address) showing me as sole beneficiary of his life insurance and death gratuity. He also found a copy of our PCS (Permanent Change of Station) Advance Request form that shows I was moving with him ^___^

Calypso and Hedi,

We're also re-sending stuff we've already sent - bank statements for 3 years (we'll probably send one from every quarter spanning the 3 years we've been married - we also have copies of our signature cards showing the date the accounts were opened AND updated to the new address), medical statements...

I wouldn't resend things they already have....they have seen it and deemed it not enough. I would send them things they haven't seen.

Calypso and Hedi,

Thank you so much for your suggestions! My husband was so frustrated, he said, "Why couldn't it have been the green card that came in the mail?!" - he doesn't understand why they can't tell from everything we've already sent that we do live together. :( He wants to get our RFE response packet sent on Wednesday, LOL. We're doing our best to gather all of the other evidence we may have missed. I'm so glad we saved the envelopes of a lot of the stuff that was sent to us!!! So far, we have:

  • 2009, 2010 and 2011 IRS Tax Return AND Account Transcripts (Thankfully, we requested the 2011 transcripts a few weeks ago!)
  • Copy of Report of Marriage Contracted Abroad verified by the Philippine Consulate General and registered in the Civil Registry
  • Hubby's driver's license and my State ID with our new address (also including my old learner's permit with our old address - I'm hoping to find a copy of my hubby's old driver's license with our old address too)
  • SSN card mailers (1 for my first card in my maiden name and 1 for my second card in my married name - both with our old address where I got my SSN)
  • Internet Bill in my name and all other utility bills in my husband's name plus a form for a change in our gas service that shows my husband as the account holder but with my signature at the bottom showing I'm an authorized agent (I had to sign it because they came to the house while my husband was at work so I'm hoping I can call them and have them verify that it was signed at the house and they personally met me)
  • Health Insurance cards indicating change of Primary Care Manager when we moved
  • copies of our Prescription refills showing we fill them at the same pharmacy and that we have the same doctor and dentist
  • an ER bill/statement for my husband showing me as next of kin and with our address
  • pet licenses for our 2 dogs in both of our names
  • veterinary bills and receipts with both of our names on them
  • our magazine and catalog Subscriptions
  • certificates of appreciation from the Army addressed to me and cards from the FRG addressed to both of us
  • copies of invoices, packing slips, receipts from our online purchases
  • cards, letters and invitations addressed to both of us plus official change of address confirmation from USPS (because some of the mail still have the yellow sticker indicating it was to be forwarded to our new address)
  • junk mail addressed to me

We're also working on getting letters from the utility companies saying I'm on all of our accounts - if that's not possible, I may just print out our online account information that says I'm authorized user on the accounts. We're also re-sending stuff we've already sent - bank statements for 3 years (we'll probably send one from every quarter spanning the 3 years we've been married - we also have copies of our signature cards showing the date the accounts were opened AND updated to the new address), medical statements...

I wish I could ask our USPS, FedEx and UPS carriers to give statements that they know me personally! I have packages delivered at least once a week! LOL. We're also thinking of asking our neighbors to sign statements that they know us personally - one couple actually sees and talks to us almost everyday when we go out to our backyard (we talk over our fence, LOL). I'm probably going to ask my Driver's Ed instructors for statements that they know us personally and they've picked me up and dropped me off at our house for my driving classes.

Is there anything else we may have missed?

Personally, to me it seems like you have a lot of good evidence. :) I really hope you get the approval soon. Keeping you in my thoughts. :)

We can't really tell if they lost or misplaced some of the documents in the original packet that's why the RFE came. If that were me, I'd resend a few of the strong old stuff but place them at the bottom of the pile. star_smile.gif

Do you think it would be better to sort the documents by year? 2012 then 2011 then 2010 and 2009 last? Or just sort them by type?

Also, I forgot to post the actual text of the RFE! The first page was the generic blue notice that states the deadline and the second page lists the documents they're requesting.

We're supposed to return the original RFE notice right? Not a copy? (a little confusing because it says to "Save this notice." at the bottom).

PAGE 1

RETURN THIS NOTICE ON TOP OF THE REQUESTED INFORMATION LISTED ON THE ATTACHED SHEET.

Note: You are given until October 1, 2012 in which to submit the requested information to the address at the bottom of this notice.

However, since many immigration benefits are time sensitive, you are encouraged to respond to this request as early as possible but no later than the date provided on this request.

Pursuant to 8 C.F.R. 103.2(b)(11) failure to submit ALL evidence requested at one time may result in the denial of your application.
