I was told by the embassy that my husband's AP is taking long because of his common name and his name starts with Abdul. Do any of you know anyone with the name Abdul get visa? How long was their AP? If you have any information please let me know.

I read on another forum a user with the name Abdul was on AP for over 2 years. He got visa this week finally. On the same forum another person was on AP for 3.5 years and his first name was Abdul too. I am getting very nervous. My husband has also been on AP for four months now.

i used to hear that people with the name khan has to wait a long time but that's not true. one my friend got his visa in 2months of AP. his name is mohammed hasan khan. I believe AP is a totally random thing. some people gets out fast and some has to wait.

There may have been reasons behind those other cases as to why it was taking much longer... I remb once i was scared about a person saying they didnt know why they were on ap for so long and it had been over a year but it turned out thier case wasn't like ours... it was a family visa and they had to wait until the visa became available....but for those of us who are us citizens our spouses visas are available immediately... at least once they complete the AP... so remb altho it may be similar to yours there are other things they arent' telling so dont take thier info for your own....

This will end soon RealAL... im very sorry for that.. we wondered if my husbands name was common too but all we can do is wait until our pending becomes fruitful...

May ALLAH bless all of us being patient and waiting to be reunited... AMEEN!!!

Eabbas, you always make everyone feel better. What would we do if we didn't have you on this forum. I really hope and pray that we all get releif from this waiting game and the agony of being separated from our loved ones soon.

My fiance's name begins with Mohammad and I wondered if having a common name as such would result in being in AP long. I wonder how long others with the name Mohammad have been in AP for.

AP is totally luck. I have a friend whose first name is Mohammad and he was on AP only for three weeks and it was few years back when AP took even longer. But some people with that name suffer in AP for a long time. A lot of us on this forum are enduring long AP wait time even though we do not have that name. So keep your spirits up and be patient. Allah willing your AP will be short and your fiance will be here soon.
