Hi again vjers,

Thank you for always helping with my queries on the process.

i already have my manila case number, which we got thru NVC. I called the Manila embassy this morning to ask if they already have our package from NVC. The girl i talked to said they dont know if the embassy already have it, what she advice me is to wait for the email from them stating that i can proceed with the process.

I have alot of questions to ask from you vjers,

1. How long does it take from them to email the appointment letter?

2. Can i set an interview date and medical without the appointment letter, since december is full, i know they will probably set the me around January & February, and there will be enough time for them to review the documents from NVC.

3. how can i pay the visa fee? i know its thru BPI, shud i bring only my passport? how bout the medical fee where can i pay it?

4. and which is better, to set an appointment thru online or phone?

Thank you again.. :)

1. Not sure if they send it via email, I thought its a hard copy but the answer is unknown. Sometimes the beneficiary is already in the US but still nothing was sent to them. it looks like this click here

2. Yes you can go ahead set it up.

3. Yes the passport, MLA case number, not sure about St Lukes. I think you will pay it there in the hospital.

4. Well it depends what is more convenient for you..

Since you're on a k1 visa... the embassy doesn't Email an appointment letter. the only thing they will send you is an eligibility letter which will tell you that you can schedule an interview by then, but then this letter will take time to reach you and there are even some who haven't really received those. So I advice you to wait approximately 3-5 days or a week exactly to be sure after you confirmed with the NVC that they have already sent your physical file to the embassy already. after such time, you can go to bpi and pay the visa fee and yes bring your passport with you when you go pay your visa and then wait for 4 hours or more after paying then you can schedule your appointment. i paid mine in the morning and did my scheduling in the evening. You can have your medical even without an appointment yet, all you need to show to SLEC is any letter which shows your case number which has the MNL because they will look for your case number. the payment for the medical is done at slec. btw, it's a great help for you when you have done your online registration at slec website..and lastly i had set my appointment online with no hassle at all. hope i helped :) God bless :)

here's my blog about it :)http://myjourneywithhimandhim.blogspot.com/

Take your passport and the MNL # to BPI and pay the fee to the USEM, wait a day (roughly) then you can schedule your interview online. You can register for St. Luke's online also, from what I read its first come first serve, you save time with the online registration.

Everyone says to not wait for a letter from the USEM as you will be wasting too much time.

hi wat proof i can show to SLEC showing my case #? we only got it only thru phone.

you can email the NVC to ask for it, ask as well when did they mailed your petition to the embassy so you can have an estimated time as to when to pay your visa :)here's the email : NVCInquiry@state.gov

or you can wait for the hard copy of your NVC letter which your fiance will receive in 5days perhaps :)

God bless and good luck :)

You don't need proof. You just need your MNL case number. Also, bring a copy of your USCIS NOA approval letter.

Or, you can set your interview appointment before you go to St. Lukes. That way, you can bring your interview appointment confirmation printout. St Lukes prefers those.

By the way, if you use the call center to make your interview appointment, the call center rep might ask you if you have received the letter from the Embassy telling you that you are eligible to schedule an interview. Tell them that you have received it already. Then they will allow you to make an interview appointment.

if you have your case number and passport. Go to BPi and pay the fee. Your receipt number is your passport number.

Schedule online and not over the phone. You get more date choices to choose from and times. Your priority date is the receive date on the notice. (not the notice date)

You can sign up now at the usem. Know that K-1 is under immigrant visa and not non-immigrant visa. You should be able to schedule quickly. However, give your case one week to get to embassy and one week for processing at the embassy. If you case was sent today to US embassy in manila. they would receive the 13th and have input around the 21st. The soonest you could interview would be the 23rd to be safe.

Do not expect a letter. the k-1 visa has no letter from the embassy. I am not sure about k-3/ir-1/cr-1. I hope all goes well for you. And enojoy this hectic time. You are finally on the way.

09/18/2011 - POE, Viva Las Vegas, Baby !!!!! Home to Phoenix.

Southcalhog point is really good. It's very confusing as really the K1 is a nonimmigrant visa but if you click those links you will never find the K designation. You must click immigrant visa link.
