Question 11 of I-134 confusion

Hi guys don't seem to find a clear answer on this.

I'm UK citizen, so will be going through London Embassy.

Does my fiancee say intend and list that she will be supporting me to live in her house, eat etc if needed, or do we just follow the example form and put N/A (K1 visa for permanent residency)?

I also believe we will need a co-sponsor due to her current salary being under the 125% for the size of household. Do they just fill the form in the same way as my fiancee? And does the co-sponsor have to show they earn the 125% or just the shortfall?

Generally for the K-1 it does not apply and I answered that. However I have read here many times that the London consulate prefers you answer that she "WILL" support you.

Yes, the co-sponsor fills out the same forms as the sponsor PLUS must attach proof of US citizenship or Permanent residency. The petitoner provided proof of citizenship with the I-129f but the co-sponsor did not.

I know its not really inkeeping with this topic but can anyone tell me did the VWP (mines valid till 2013) replace the I-94 or do I still need an I-94 to apply for a SSN?

Once you are in the country with your K-1, you do need the I-94.

VWP is for tourists only, not for those with K-1 or any visa.

You need the I-94 and your visa AND some other form of government issued ID (your passport is OK, it is a separate document than the visa, issued by a separate government) to get an SSN, you will get the I-94 when you enter on the K-1.

Uh oh... I think I put down "do not intend" (because i accidentally pressed it and it wouldn't let me uncheck) and then put the N/A as K1 visa pending response. Should I have put "do intend"?? should I resend the last page to my fiance with a "Do intend" checked? Wouldn't really be a problem to do that as he doesn't have an interview scheduled yet. What a confusing question! lol

It's really VJ "lore" that London requires "intend" to be checked. One guy, Graham of 'Graham and Megan' late 2008, had a new officer who told him that and let him tick the blank box. However, I've read UK forum just about daily for almost 4 years now and have never seen another person questioned for not putting "intend". Many still follow the VJ sample form.

Also proof of citizenship is not generally required of a sponsor on the I-134 like it is for spouse visas on the stricter I-864. A person can even self sponsor with no I-134 at all. Or a do-it-yourself affidavit by a sponsor is allowed as long as it contains all the right information as outline on the London website. And often they hand back the unemployed fiance's I-134 and only keep the one that actually qualifies. The want somebody to accept sponsorship, but it doesn't have to be the fiance.

Just sayin' my opinion based on London experience.
