Actually, I have the same question about the chat logs on skype. In my case what I did was, I temporarily copy the messages and paste it on MS WORD. It is a thick file and it also shows the time and date of your chats. :) And I heard from someone that they only store messages for the past 6 months, I am not sure how true is it.

The same what I did with our messages on facebook.

I included Skype logs when I submitted my i-129f. I took screen shots of actual chat messages as well as incoming and outgoing calls to my fiance and their duration!

You can store forever your chat logs. I still have mine since I first met my fiance in 2008.The only one that store 6 months if you use Skype service like calls to landlines or cellphone. I have thread about that.

I copied and pasted my skype logs into MS word and highlighted all of our phone calls. It still showed the date and times for all of our correspondence, so I hope that will be sufficient.

i used print screen and copied it to windows paint and printed it out

We tend to talk more that text on Skype so what I do is make sure the DATE is showing in the chat log under the video then I hit the PRINT SCREEN button, from there I open my word processor, right click on a new page and choose paste, then save the file. That is a record of us chatting as it shows both our pictures, the date and a small amount of text that we do when we first log-on. No worries about having to black out text.... okay ya you have to pay attention to what picture you are saving when you hit print screen... no bad pictures as someone may get upset  !

We just took screen shots and pasted them into word and then printed them out. Because of all the other graphics that appear on and around the skype chat screen it was easy to scroll to a place where it showed just a few lines of text that didn't have any content that was too personal.... . I had read somewhere though that it is acceptable to grey out any particular words or phrases that you are unhappy sharing. We did use 3 seperate dates of chat that spanned 6 months, so not very much in the way of conversation but used it as another way of providing evidence of time in our relationship. Hope this helps. Good luck

We blacked out a lot of things in our correspondence when we sent the petition. They didn't seem to mind as we got approved.
