Unfortunately my wife did not pass the visa interview. She waqs denied for non-bona fides relationship.

I just could not believe it!

I should have known. I did not make enough effort to urge my wife to spend time preparing for the interview. The VO is probably not very satisfied with some of her answers.

I will have to spend a lot of efforts to fight this now.

Most ppl think asking about ex is ridiculous but infact it is not, if your wife was able to answer questions about your ex-wife that shows CO that you two are talking, you have disclosed everything.

im so sorry to hear about this unfortunate incudent, as i recall, we almost were around the same time prepping all our stuff from docus and steps.. care to share the details if ok?

SERVICE CENTER : California

CONSULATE : Manila

MARRIAGE : Feb 15, 2010

I -130 SENT : April 26, 2011

NOA 1 : May 1, 2011

TOUCHED : May 5, 2011

NOA2 : August 1, 2011

Our I-130 was approved in 92 days from our NOA1 date.

CASE NUMBER ASSSIGNED : Sept. 12, 2011

EMAILED DS3032 : October 6, 2011

AOS FEE BILL PAID : October 11, 2011

IV FEE BILL PAID : October 24, 2011

NVC received AOS and IV packs = Nov. 3, 2011

NVC RESPONSE = Nov. 8, 2011 - RFE for missing proof of relationship with co-sponsor

Mailed RFE file = Nov. 9, 2011

NVC received RFE = November 14, 2011, 9:54 am, PORTSMOUTH, NH 03801

CASE CLOSED = Nov. 18, 2011 :D

MEDICAL EXAM = Dec 20-21, 2011 = PASSED!!!

INTERVIEW DATE = January 6, 2012 = APPROVED!!! ----Our interview took 250 days from our I-130 NOA1 date.

VISA PRODUCTION = January 6,2012

VISA DELIVERY = January 11, 2012

POE = Feb.18, 2012

SSN Received = Feb 25, 2012

GC received = April 5, 2012 (incorrect data entry :((, sent back April 9, 2012)

CORRECT GC RECEIVED = August 22, 2012, granted IR1 (10 year gc)

that's where our USCIS process ends for now.. will wait for the next 3-4 years what we'll do next...

I front loaded the petition and application with so much documents of evidences that I thought this is an easy case.

I should have pushed my wife to spend a lot more time to prepare and memorize details information related to my family etc.

They scrutized my wife for 10 minutes on questions related to my ex-wife, which she totally wasn't quite prepared. She just never was interested in knowing too much details of my ex-wife. She knoew how we divorced and when it happened, but she wasn't really interested in knowing all the personal information of my ex-wife.

It's rather ridiculous they would quiz her on my ex-wife, instead of quiz her on events in our relatiship, which is more relevant.

Now how do I get the case to stay in the Guangzhou Consulate and get a second chance?

I'm am sorry this is happening to you.

To keep the file there, try to make contact with someone at a supervisory or management level. If are are fortunate enough to reach someone in such a position, there is no guarantee they still won't send the file back.

Contact your Member of Congress or your Senators and see if they can intervene.

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

IR1/CR1 Visa - DCF at London Embassy

April 16, 2013: Mailed out I-130
April 18, 2013: Date Petition filed
May 13, 2013: APPROVED!
May 22, 2013: Case Number received
June 3, 2013: Mailed out DS-230 & DS-2001
June 4, 2013: Medical Exam at Bentick Mansion
Unfortunately I have to re-do it in 6 + weeks as I was diagnosed with pneumonia
June 22, 2013 I traveled to the USA with the plan of returning to the UK, spoke to a Immigration lawyer and he told me to change my status and go the AOS route.
Since 2014 I am a permanent resident.

February 2010 -- Applied for B2 visa, approved.

March 2010 -- Visited US.

April 2010 -- Returned from US.

May 2010 -- Sent in K1 Visa application.

July 2010 -- Received NOA2 in 71 days from NOA1.

July 2010 -- Packet 3 received.

August 2010 -- Cancellation of K1 Visa application.

So sorry that happened to you. At my husband's interview they also asked a lot of questions about my ex-husband including how old he was. I pray you can get a second interview.
