Problems receiving Interview letter

History of events for post:

1-Received an email from SMART Core with (1) Medical exam forms, (2) K1 Prep packet with no Interview date. There was ONLY the DOS seal in the body of the email and no attached letter.

2-Called DOS and found out interview date is Dec. 16th

3-Reply email sent to SMART Core again asking for the Interview letter.

4-Received another email from SMART Core with the K1 Packet attached & again the DOS seal in the body and no interview date/time letter

5-Reply email sent to Consulate & SMART Core asking for a copy of the interview date again.

6-Received email from SMART Core with K1 Packet & DOS seal in body of email letter.

7-Called the DOS to see what I need to do to be able to get the letter as I know fiancé will need for entry into Consulate… Was advised that I need to get my Congress persons office involved … OH

8-Contacted local Congressman Office and spoke to aide that began process of trying to obtain a copy of the letter for me.

9-Following day after getting in touch with Congressman’s office received another email from SMART Core with no attachments except the DOS seal in body of email again… WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON? Seems like someone is messing with me… 4TH email from them and no interview letter but the same documents over and over.

10-Contacted via phone & forwarded latest email to aide at Congress man office.

I do not understand for the life of me why it is sooooo difficult to get a copy of the interview letter since it was never originally sent to me. And furthermore, I’m REALLY confused as to how simple things like this are even an issue. I have a friend here whose fiancé has an Interview the same day & time as my fiancé, she was approved after me, received her Interview packet after me (NO PROBLEMS) with Interview letter… WOW … Are you kidding me!?!

I am about at my wits end trying to track down this letter and get a copy of it.

Has anyone ever heard of this type of problem before or have any advice on what I should do to obtain a copy of this letter?

I had the same issue with them, up till now my finacee never received any mail for the September 28 interview; however, the date of the interview was listed on the e mail with other attachments I received from the Embassy and that was my fiancee took to the emabssy and was accepted. What I did was requested for the information in this formmat: Case: LGS.......; Beneficiary: Fiance/Fiancee full name, Petitioner: you. The actual letter was never sent but the date of the interview was listed on their response. If all fails, just send copies of your e mail and let the beneficiary to take to the embassy on the date of the interview.Good Luck

I woke this morning to an email from my Congressman's office which was a letter forwarded from the Nigerian Consulate apologizing for the inconvenience and miscommunication in me not getting the interview date, but the letter stated our names and the interview date and time and went on to say that it could be used if needed to get into the Consulate but typically they dont need it to get in the gate.

Problem solved... THANK YOU JESUS!!!

I am happy for you! But do not believe the ####### that the letter is not needed to get through the gate. I was there with my Fiancee and they ASKED for the interview letter. I even read on here on VJ that someone scheduled for interview was not allowed inside because she could not produce the interview letter. They are very good at giving wrong information. When I went to apply for CRBA for my daughter, the letter they sent me stated taht we would be called back in 10 business days, when I went for the interview I was told it wwill take 30 business days for a cacll back! My point is make sure the beneficiary has the e mail sent you to avoid any issues. Good Luck

Yes, I knew that from reading other stories here about needing the letter for entry in the gate. That is why I was not waiting for a reply from SMART Core. Went straight to my governemnt and within a week I have a letter on letter head from the Deputy Consular Chief of the Consulate that states our names, interview date & time as well as an apology. It clearly states in the letter that the letter itself will serve as proof of his appointment time. Thanks again

happy for u.mailed the embassy today n got response that they are to recieve our petition.

Its been over a week at NVC,just the believe that the embassy has it
