Hello!

The expiry of our I-129F approval is coming up. I'm confused as to how we ask for an extension. I see there's a formal document, but it looks like you send that in the mail? Can I send an e-mail, how do I word it? Thank you for any help!

Hi VJ Members,

Dominican Republic

My fiance went to get his medical and the chest xray showed a shadow so he was sent for additional testing (3 days sputum). I assume its to test or rule out TB. The Consultorio de Visa representatives are saying we have to wait 8/9 weeks for the results to be sent to the Consulate and Embassy before we can reschedule our interview and VAC appointment. This delay will cut it close to our expiration date (8/26). Does anyone know what the procedure is to request an extension.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Typically it is done automatically at the interviewing embassy/consulate if the petition expires prior to visa processing completion.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
