Case Complete at NVC but no interview date yet

Last week I received a case complete from the NVC, but no interview date has been assigned yet. What makes this somewhat vexing is I have filed electronically with the NVC and saw others have a interview date assigned two business days after receiving a CC.

ya, chase after the 'final review complete' thingie at NVC -

ask them specifically -

1. when did the final review start?

2. when did the final review finish?

if there's a date on 2, ask for a supervisor, as your casefile is stuck inbetween the queues, somehow. Ask the supervisor to get you into the 'scheduling queue' for 'Electronic Processing at GUZ IV'.

Appointment scheduling (as you know) for an EP case goes fast, the final bit, prior, is 'final review'.

The email acknowledging receiving all your documents is not yet case complete. I got that document complete email on Sep. 27. Got official case complete date from calling NVC on Sep. 29, and the visa interview appointment letter (P4) was on Sep. 30, a day after case completion.

You might want to call NVC to figure out what they are stucked with, as they already have all your files.

Mean while, double or triple check all your files. I made a slight mistake of using adjusted gross income (form 1040 line 37) to fill out the I-864EZ, should have used total income from line 22. Neither case it should not affect my ability to sponsor since I am way above the lines, and using line 22 made it even better for me. But I re-do a fresh I-864EZ form and rushed it to my wife just in case that could cause an issue.

Operator told me and the supervisor confirmed that there are no interview dates available for November now.

Almost all going to different consulates (busy or not) are getting the same answer that November is done right in the first week of October itself. May be too many holidays or may be too many visitor/ student visas are being processed (they get priority). All the best for an early December interview date.

Visitor and student visas are handled by the non-immigrant visa unit so that is not a factor.

But I looked at a couple of past month interview lists of consulates in India and observed that the total number of interviews per day is almost the same irrespective of the number of immigration and non-immigration visa interviews.

I can't speak to what goes on in India, however immigrant visas and non-immigrant visas are handled by different units at the Consulate in Guangzhou.

Absolutely true - each country and sometime each consulate in a country are different from each other.

Do not believe the all November interview slots gone nonsense. My wife got the Nov. 1st appointment date on Sep. 30. And so far our case is the only one scheduled in November, amoungst all VJers to be processed in Guangzhou Consulate. It feels so lonely :-) Your wife may still get a chance for a Nov. 1st document in-take.

OK - sounds like it's a 'training issue' for the supervisor .

Call back, get another supervisor, then remind him/her that you've an EP case.

Be adamant, remind them it's never the normal scheduling queue, that they must review their EP guidelines for GUZ IV scheduling.

Called NVC again today and guess what, an interview has been scheduled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will be on November 10th, document intake will happen the preceding day on the 9th.

What a difference a day makes!!!!!!!!!!
