Wrong passport number on visa

My husband got his visa and passport back by courier this morning, but he was looking at the passport number on his visa and it is off by one number. He just booked his flight so now he may have to change it. He is calling the Embassy now and trying to find out what to do but I am a little pissed that they make us jump through all these hoops and pay hundreds of dollars and they can't type the numbers correctly. :bonk:

Hopefully this will be fixed sometime this week...next week...

Lesson Learned- So when you get your visa check it over carefully before running gleefully to the computer to book your ticket.

Absokutely correct--at a minimum check the passport number, the spelling of your name, the class of the visa, and the expiration date. People make mistakes, and to assume perfection isn't reallife.

Update- My husband called the embassy phone number and got the email code so he could email them, he has an appointment tomorrow morning at the embassy to get the visa fixed so he can still travel on the flight he planned. I am glad this was easily remedied! :)

Just check the amended one, I corrected my birthdate on my DL once only to get the replacement one and see they'd typed all the 'n's in my name as 'm's (there's a few of them!).

Glad it's looking like it's sorted though :)

10-13-11 - CASE COMPLETE!
12-02-11 - Interview - 221g due to a washed passport
12-17-11 - POE - YYC (preclearance in Canada)

2011 to 2013 - Life happened

06-26-13 - Divorce finalized

10-07-13 - I-751 divorce filer paperwork journey begins

07-03-14 - ROC interview - approval pending delayed background checks

07-25-14 - APPROVED! 10 year GC is finally in production!

08-01-14 - 10 year GC in hand. The journey has finally ended. :)
