Nice job on posting the WH Petition.

Also, the recently introduced legislation from congresswoman Zoe Lofgren, that I had posted earlier H.R.3119 has important improvements to Family Based visas. Read it all here - http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.R.3119:#

There is a big effort from the folks who are on a similar effort rallying for Employment Based visas and since this bill does include legislative changes for both. So if there was ever a chance, something may get passed, this is the time I believe. The details and contacts of the legislators of the Judiciary committee who have to pass it is available in this thread - http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/forum85-action-items-for-everyone/2484855-iv-action-items-everyone-requested-to-participate-urgently.html#post2919661

If any you can personally write to some congressional members, below are their mailing address

Here is the sample of letter that you may want to consider sending

great work friend.....we should write to the committee members......we will put all the efforts to get our spouses and children to be united.....

Response from congresswoman Zoe Lofgren on my several attempts to bring to her attention on F2visa wastage, non transparency of visa demand statistics and current INA laws.

There was hearing in the house subcommittee on the markup of HR 3012 and lets hope some F2A issues get highlighted in atleast some measure benefiting fellow members. I also hope members take time to mail a simple letter to congressmen/woman especially madam lofgren in so hoping that F2A issues are on the mind of legislators if and when any law is crafted and passed.

Thank you for contacting me about your concerns with visa wastage. I appreciate that you took the time to share our thoughts with me, and I agree with you.

I support legal immigration and those who follow our laws in order to obtain visas in our country. As a former immigration lawyer and immigration law professor, I understand the frustration of dealing with our immigration service agencies and inflexible immigration laws.

You may be interested to know that on June 14, 2011, I introduced H.R. 2161, the IDEA Act of 2011. This bill would recapture unused visas from past years to reduce green card backlogs, adjust the "per country" limits to level the playing field for employment-based and family-based immigrants, and exempt spouses and children of employment-based immigrants from counting towards visa caps. I am also currently working on a bill that would provide relief similar to the V visa, and I will be sure to keep you comments in mind as I continue my work on this legislation.

Again, thanks for being in touch. If I may ever be of any assistance to you or your family, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely

Zoe Lofgren

Member of Congress

Thanks for the supporting words jhp. I also hope other members take some time to write to the congresswoman if we are to see any legislative changes. Else everyone would just be predicting monthly visa bulletin suspense for a long long time!
