USCIS Mistake!

This is REALLY phenomenal!

So today I received a 797C- the infamous rejection notice and ALL of our paperwork back, but when I checked the reason- no payment was included!!!! Now I CLEARLY remember putting the money order in the envelope with everything. So I frantically started looking through everything they sent me back and one of the things was the original envelope I used folded 4 times, and in it ( drum-rolls please ) THE MONEY ORDER!!!!!! Are you effin' kidding me??????? What kind of person would not double check the envelope before rejecting the application? The one who doesn't care obviously. Sent everything back immediately. E-mailed to the address included with the notice. Oh yeah and I put the check in the plastic baggie and stapled it to the front. Maybe this time they won't miss it.

Wow... does it never end? I'm so sorry to hear that - that's terrible. I'd include a note mentioning you expect to preserve your earlier priority date, based on the clerical error! Good luck. :-/

Thank you! ) I already mailed everything back. But if I get a reply to my e-mail I will mention it. Although at this point the 6 day delay won't make any difference!

I understood all what was written. The error could be having the payment in adittional envelope/s.. If I recall USCIS's package assembly instructions.. The check/money order should be on the outter most part of the paper work... Didnt look it up but I think so.

If u haven't already sent it back ..now u can use the system to your advantage if you are able to prove uscis's error and request the case be expedited even though it is only a few days behind the "original" submission date.

Yes I have, I did not want to wait any longer and went to the post office right away. Everything was in one envelope and the payment was on the very top. Thank you thought. Let me know how I could make them expedite my case? ) Or does it only work before I mail it? And the only proof I have is the date on money order is the original date the package was mailed, but I am sure they could say- well you just did not mail it on that date!

The request is usually sent along with the original submission. You can call and request it by speaking with a supervisor even thou this can be.done through the regular agents. Call after u have confirmation of the receipt number...
