Interview went smooth and very easy. Took only a few minutes. All they asked was:

1) What is your fiancees name? gave my name

2) How many times has he been to China? 5 times since September 2010

3) Where did you go? Nanjing, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macau and Sanya

4) Please show couple pictures. Shows pictures

5) What other countries have you visited? Thailand and S. Korea

6) Do you speak Korean? Little

Then the Visa Officer got out white approval sheet and Lili very happy.......................Then the VO looked at paperwork again and noticed that Lili (fiancee) was at one time a CCP member (Lili resigned in April via letter to CCP and China Eastern Airlines)CCP membership was strictly work related as Lili worked for airlines owned by the government (China Eastern)......Then came the blue slip. Lili was told she needed a copy of her resume and CCP letter of explanation. We knew this may happen so we already had everything prepared (Resume, CCP Explanation and Lili's resignation letter dated 4/2/2011). The VO said this was good. Nothing else was needed.

Now additional processing. Since we already provided Resume, CCP Explanation and resignation letter how long do you guys think? Another 30 day delay before visa? 60 day?

Will they send Visa to Lili's home in Nanjing? or does Lili need to go to GUZ again?

Time for a few days of Rest and Relaxation then back to Austin.

Did she go ahead and fill out the EMS paperwork to have the visa delivered to her?

We were planning on waiting in GUZ for the Visa (if approved). After Blue, we filled out EMS to her home in Nanjing.

After approved, will they just send her the visa sticker and she will put in her Passport? or will she need to send her Passport to GUZ via EMS and then they send back to her in Nanjing?

Thanks,

M & L

You will need to send back passport. Did they have her fill out an EMS sticker? That is a little unusual for blue, normally they pay for the notification.

I would plan on 60+ days and hope it is shorter.

Hmm.. so you were able to fill out the EMS postage even after a blue slip?

Yes, after we received the Blue Slip my fiancee filled out a new EMS. I think the original had the GUZ Post Office address as we were planning on waiting in GUZ (if we got White).................Now, the waiting game again, grrrrrr....... :innocent:

I had to purchase a last minute flight yesterday (alone :crying: ) back to the States. United was the cheapest I cound find. The flight was a nightmare. Twelve hours from PVG-LAX ($1,073) with a broken TV monitor arm (aisle/exit row). Damn thing kept falling down on my shin bone. Three hours from LAX-AUS on a tiny cramped CR7 or something...............

Hmm... I wondering if my husband filled out an EMS sheet.I don't recall him telling me that he filled one out. My assumption was that you only fill out the EMS sheet if your visa was approved.

Sucks that you had a horrible time with your last minute flight. I flew on United to go to China a year ago and told myself to never use them for an international flight again! I am a pretty thin girl (105 lbs and 5'5) and no matter what position I was in, I could not get comfortable. It was the first time where I stayed up throughout the whole course of the flight and I usually sleeps through them.

Speaking of flights, I am so frustrated with the whole immigration process that I am even considering booking a short trip to Guangzhou so that I can go to the Guangzhou embassy in person. Its slow season right now and the round tripticket is only 800 ish from LAX.

So even if my husband received a blue slip, he can still complete the EMS form first?

Yes, my fiancee filled out a EMS even though she got Blue.

Did they keep her passport? If not, once they have finished the additional background check, you will have to send it in.

Hi Beachey,,

No, they didn't keep her passport. How is your case going? Still waiting? How many days now since blue?

Matt

Matt

Next week will be three months since her interview, we had to send in her resume about two weeks after that.

This waiting is hard even though we are together here in China.
