My parents went for their interview today. They were scheduled at 6:20 AM but arrived at USEM shortly before 6 AM. There was already a long line when they arrived. Based on the experiences of others in this forum, I thought there is no definite line until 6 AM when the guard will make the final instruction to fall in line based on the visa category. This is the reason why I instructed my parents not to be very early. I guess they have changed the system. There was no special treatment for senior citizens and they fell in line at the very end of the long line.

They had a pre-screening by a Filipino staff then had electronic fingerprinting done. After waiting for their number to be called again, they had an interview with a female Caucasian CO. The only questions asked were:

Who is your petitioner?

How are you related to him?

What does he do for a living?

When was the last time you met personally?

They told me that the CO did not say anything if they are approved or not. They were just instructed to go to Window 72. They filled up a form and indicated that they will pick up their visa at 2Go SM Manila. They left USEM shortly after 11 AM.

I am just happy and proud of my 65 year old parents who followed my instructions patiently and went through the whole process by themselves. We thank God that all our sacrifices for six and a half months is finally rewarded. Hopefully they will get their visa in 3 days so that they can fly shortly after that.

did your parents have to pay anything in the US embassy when they got interviewed?

No need to pay anything. Even the documents, nothing was asked.

How were u able to call the embassy to confirm the visa were printed. What phone number did u call to be able to confirm. Thanks
