Police Certificate in Australia

Hello VJers,

We are prepping material for the DS-230. My wife was a student for four years in Australia. In addition to a police certificate for her present residence/area in Vietnam, I am assuming that she will need a police certificate from Australia for the time that she was a student there. Where and how can we get that police certificate?

get employment authorization - not required
file I-751, petition to remove the conditions of residence (before 2nd year expires upon entry)

Thanks Pat&Chole, that's what I am looking at right now. The burning question is whether or not she will need to get fingerprints (which must be done at the local Australian police?). And on the State Dept website, it looks like a name-check only will not be accepted. Kinda worried about this police certificate thing and how to get it.
