One question though, what evidence did you send with your application?

I sent the kids birth certs (and our marriage cert of course), front page of deeds to our home listing both of us and 2010 property taxes. I didn't have the three years federal taxes when I submitted my app, only called the IRS for that later.

Had my interview today. I was there 30 minutes previous (well, actually I was earlier but waited in the parking lot as the appointment notice said, in bold, not to arrive more than 30 minutes before the appointment time as space in the waiting room was limited- of course there was lots of space!), and got seen 50 minutes after my appointment time.

The interview itself was easy and only took about 20 minutes. She started off giving me an oath to tell the truth, then asked to see my greencard and drivers license, then my passport and my husband's passport, asked whether we were still married and lived together. The interviewer asked some questions she obviously knew by heart as she looked through my application (are you willing to bear arms for the USA if required by law, have you ever been a member of the communist party, have you ever been associated with a terrorist group etc), and checked that I still was a member of the associations I listed.

The interviewer then asked how many kids we had and birth cert for any born in the USA. She asked when my last trip abroad was since I immigrated (never), then asked why I'd never travelled as I travelled a lot before immigration (3 kids under 4- to which she said "bless your heart!"), and whether I missed my home country. She seemed happy when I said my mom came to visit often. Then I had to read a sentence in English ("What is one of the rights of a US citizen?" and write one ("Voting in federal elections is one of the rights of a citizen"). Then came the civics test:

1. What ocean is on the West of the USA?

2. Who is the current Vice President?

3. Name one of the writers of the Federalist Papers

4. Who is the Governor of your state?

5. What is one of the wars the USA fought in the 19 hundreds?

6. Why did we seek independance from Great Britain?

The interviewers computer crashed after the last question, and she paniced a bit and had to ask me the last question again (I guess they get them randomised from their computer screen). She then asked to see evidence of bonafide marriage, and I gave her the three years tax returns, a recipt of furniture with both our names, check book with both our names, and house deeds with both our names, and birth cert of my youngest born in the USA and Consular Record of Birth Abroad of the twins. She went off to photocopy the stuff, then came back, handed me a piece of paper saying I passed and told me oath is in about 6 weeks, but definitely before the end of the year, should get 3-4 weeks notice. That was it!

I had my interview yesterday and it went smoothly. The questions were not difficult. The IO said that she had everything she needed and that I only needed to show her my state ID and green card. The whole interview took less than 15 minutes. I was approved but did not receive an oath date/letter on the spot.

I wonder how reliable the online status is ? Hopefully it will reliably inform me when they mail out my oath letter. The online system still shows that my I-130 and I-485 as received/pending

Does anyone know where the oath letter is mailed out from? Does it come from the local USCIS office?

It has been over a month, and I still don't have interview letter. And take in mind that Casper, WY is not a busy office. A whole state has a population of 600,000 people, it is not NY. I was hoping to be done before New Year, bz moving to another state. Talked to a representative today, and he informed me that if I move I will have to wait another 90 days before I can get scheduled for interview or oath.So all this waiting is for nothing if I don't get all this done in the next two months. So frustrating...... :bonk: .

Got an email just now, my oath ceremony has been scheduled. Now just waiting for the letter to tell me when!

Hi everyone,

I had my interview yesterday. first I never got an interview letter only the status changed online showing my interview has been scheduled. After waiting two weeks and still no letter I called talked to IO and they decided to fax a copy to me and I can use it. Went to the seattle office yesterday and I was in with no problem. Waited for 30 mins and got called in. The officer which she was very nice went through my N-400 form and she saw that I have speeding ticket mentioned in the form. I handed her certified court copy saying it was differed fine was paid and a copy of my complete driving record. She didnt ask for that but she took it anyway. went through the civic questions

What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?

What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?

Who is in charge of the executive branch?

If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?

There are four amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.

What is one reason colonists came to America?

then she asked me to read : How many U.S. Senators are there?

and write: we have 100 senators

after that I signed my pictures and the n-400 and told me that I can be citizen today. oath at noon.

went out and came back at noon for the oath ceremony which it was wonderful. received my certificate of naturalization with info how to apply for passport and register to vote.

My oath ceremony letter arrived, only one day after I got the email! And giving me less than a week's notice to find childcare... ah well, not complaining, I'll be glad to get it all over with.
