no... The first chart shows net worth.. All the money and assets a person has minus outstanding debts.. So if you have a 401K worth 100,000 and 5,000 in the bank but owe 25,000 in student loans then your net worth is 80,000

I would like to see a chart comparing the average income of those putting their effort into working and building wealth compared to those that pine over graphs whining about what everyone else is making.

Single unwed mothers would have a lot to do with the gap. It is the number one cause for poverty in this country. Then you add in the break down of the family structure caused by the welfare system and your economic situation really takes a hit.

How is it possible?

A 22-year-old non-working mother with three kids that lives in an apartment paid for by tax dollars is on one side of the spectrum and a family of two upper middle class, college educated, working professionals with one kid is on the other. Average them out, and you get $6,000.
