Here is my experience of my trip to the Medical today, I hope it helps some people:

Got the 6:44 train from Ipswich to get me into London Liverpool Street for 07:50, then onto the underground to Bond Street and to the Doctors at 8:15. Easy to find from underground, take Oxford Circus exit turn right, turn left onto Marlybone Lane, follow to Bentick Street, turn right, number 4 flat 4. Ring bell.

Handed over passport, medical history, photo (had a US spec and UK spec, they accepted UK as they trim them down to this size anyway, she let me keep the US ones after I told her how much more expensive they are!) my police check hadn't arrived so they allowed me to simply email it to them once it does, they cannot send my medical report to the Embassy until they see it.

After filling out a similar YES NO form to the prior one, I was in the waiting room (writing this!) very nice receptionists, for anyone tense or nervous, all good so far....

After 10 minutes I got called in by the Radiographer for the chest x ray. Removing all clothing from top half inc necklaces (if you wish not to remove, wear a top with no metal or buttons and they won't make you). After this painless exprience, I was back in the waiting room.

2 minutes later I was escorted to the nurses room where we discussed my vaccination record. It did not need to be up to date today but it will for when I file my AOS in US. I need a new 10 year Booster which I opted to get from my GP back home (note, I was also told if I file my AOS Oct-Mar I would need to prove I have a recent FLU shot aswell!). Back in the waiting room which has now filled up.

After 25 minutes it was time to see the Doctor. Regarding my previous statement concerning removing clothes, buttons are now irrelevant, you will have to strip down to underwear. I also had to prove to her I was infact a male (there has been cases, apparently......)

Simple a sight test, hearing check, height, weight, blood pressure, breathing and blood sample later (syphilis), I was out after 10 minutes, back in the waiting room.

2 minutes later, I was called to reception, given a photocopy of my vaccination history that I provide when I file my AOS. The receptionist said the Embassy will take it if I give it to them so don't, they have their own copy and you won't get it back!

Paid my 210, part cash, part card (they do not take American Express (ha!))

Out by 10, underground then home!

COSTS

Return Train to London £44

Passort Photo £2

Medical £210

Police Report £35

Cider and McDonald's waiting for Train £5 (well deserved)

One step closer.... PRICELESS!!!
