Yep. I called again yesterday, asked them to the escalate my call again, and the officer told me "The information online is not accurate. Please disregard anything you see online."

What is the point of having an online system if it's spreading misinformation? I thought the whole idea was to help keep us updated on what progress is being made (or not)...

Hope you get your oath letter soon dubliner!

I am in the same shoes...Only that I made an InfoPass appointment and met with an IO. He told me the application got "sidetracked"...My online status still reads "Testing & Interview", 5 weeks later mind you!

It is frustrating because you can see the finish line, but unfortunately, there is nothing else to do but wait!

Good luck my friend!

I received a status update from USCIS saying that they scheduled my oath and sent me a letter. I'm almost done!

Melryn222, hope you hear from them soon too!

Hi... My husband is in the same boat. He had his interview on june 27th and the person said he past on the interview but she had to review some infs about one DUI he had back in 2005. She said he should expect one letter in 2 days or so. After two days he got the letter asking for his divorce certificate. We sent it in the next day and after that we didn't hear from them. What is going on? Do we need to do something? I was aspecting at least to hear from them saying that they got the requested documents.

p.s; I tried to open one discussion for me but I didnt know how...

PLEAAASE, I NEED SOME ADVICE!

So the plot thickens..

I recently received a letter in the mail (it was sent over a week ago, but I was out of the country and only got it yesterday). It was an appointment letter asking me to come to the same office where I had the first interview.

All it says is "REASON FOR APPT: FURTHER TESTIMONY ON YOUR PENDING N400 APPLICATION." Bring with you: THIS LETTER.

So my question to you is:

Should I be worried? Is this just standard procedure or some kind of ambush?

I am wondering if they are just going to make sure I didn't suddenly turn into a violent criminal and got arrested while they tracked down the rest of my file (I didn't--criminal record is spotless). Or are they going to lock me in a room to interrogate and slowly torture me? I don't know, but I don't trust them...

Does anyone know what this letter means???

Hey there, not sure what your letter means but perhaps it is just to clarify things they were not able to when you went for your interview due to them not having your full file. Did you go through an interview earlier in removing conditions? If you did and all was fine then I am sure this is a formality. When do you have to appear for your next interview?

Hopefully someone else who has got one of those letters will be by to let you know what happened with them. I would say don't worry about it, but I know it would do no good. Chin up is all I can say.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

Thank you Leafgal. I did go in for an interview when I applied to remove the conditions, and it went without a hitch. I was worried going in because my husband (now ex) and I were separated at the time, though not yet divorced, and I went without him and was honest about our separation. The interview did not take long and I got my 10-year greencard in the mail within 2 weeks.

Actually, now that I think about it, all the interviews I've had went really well. My very first interview when I applied for conditional permanent residence took less than 10 minutes. I went with my husband and since we were high school sweethearts and had known each other since we were 16, I had tons of pictures, letters, etc. They didn't even look at all the stuff we brought and I got my conditional permanent resident card within 2 weeks.

What threw me off this time around is that they didn't ask me to bring anything other than the appointment letter I received. I'm used to walking in there lugging 10-lbs of paperwork... Should I bring it anyway? My guess is that it could be a really good sign, or a really bad omen... So I'm really anxious. :(

When did you get your green card? Did you file the N400 based on 3 or 5 years residency? I think the background you provided on top regarding your situation when you were removing conditions makes a big difference. You didnt fill in the timeline and it's not on your signature either. Maybe if you provide more details someone may be able to assist or answer your question.

Jan 1999- F1 to USA

June 2006- AOS thru D.O.R.A.

Dec 2009- Oath. Finally a U.S Citizen

I am proud to be Tanzamerican!

I don't have my paperwork with me, so I don't know exact dates, but here is a rough timeline:

Early 2006 - Applied for conditional permanent residence

June 2006 - Had interview w/ hubby

July 2006 - Granted conditional permanent residence

July-ish 2008 - Applied for removal of conditions

(long long wait period for a decision...)

May 2010 - Finally got a notice to come in for interview

June 2010 - Had interview w/out husband (already separated, which I learned after consulting an attorney, does not disqualify you from receiving PR as long as your marriage was bona fide)

July 2010 - Application to remove conditions approved, granted permanent residence (10-yr)

April 2011 - Applied for N-400 based on 5-year residency, NOT 3-year marriage, since we were already separated at the time

June 2011 - Received notice to come in for interview

July 2011 - Had interview, passed English/Civics test; officer approved application, but then realized part of my file was missing and had to be located by USCIS before they can give final approval

September 2011 - Received notice to come in for a second interview for "Further testimony in your pending N400 application" and to bring "This letter"

It could be nothing, just procedure, and when I called USCIS they said it might just be that since it's been over 30 days since the interview, they want to call me in and make sure nothing has changed since I applied. I don't know.. but like I said, it sounds a little strange..

Side note - I have no criminal record, good credit, file taxes every year, and have been gainfully employed since graduating from college.

Hi everyone - just a quick update...

Second interview went really well and my application was approved! I got my Oath Letter in the mail about a week later and already had my Oath Ceremony so I am now (FINALLY!) a US Citizen. It's been a long journey, but everything worked out in the end. :) Best of luck to all of you going through it and thank you to everyone on this forum for the information, encouraging words, and support.
