I am the beneficiary of the K1 visa petition, my UK address has changed and I need to inform the NVC of where to send the packet 3. My fiance has been given instructions to fax over all the details along with the National Visa Centre Approval Number, where do we find this number?

We have received our hard copy of our NoA2 and it says nothing about such a number. Is it something we are missing or is it a term by another name?

Any help is appreciated

Thank you

I'm assuming that this is your NVC Case #. You can call 603-334-0700, press 1 and then 5 to speak to an operator. The operator will ask for your USCIS Receipt # and then verify a few details with you. Ask the operator for your NVC Case #.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

There is nothing in the notice of the NVC Case Number, just some letters and numbers over my name (beneficiary).

My fiance is calling them now to see what information he can get, I'll post again with outcome.

Thanks for help :)

We had the same issue and NVC still made a mistake. You can call NVC or DOS and give them your USCIS number and if they have assigned a number they can give it to you. I did a change of address over the phone and P3 never made it in the mail so please be very clear with the new address then call back in a few days and ask them to confirm that it is in the system.

Good luck!

For the NVC:

K1's are not tracked through the AVR, EVER. They are processed like an immigrant visa, but they are NOT immigrant visas, so they fall into a completely different class of their own. Therefore you need an operator. To get there:

1-603-334-0700

Press 2 for Non-Haiti-Related issue (Please note that this will probably change after some time)

Press 1 for English

Press 5 for an operator

For DOS:

This is where you will be able to find out if your case was received at the Embassy/Consulate. They will not see your case in their system until the NVC has logged it in and applied a case number to it.

1-202-663-1225

Press 1 for the Main Menu

Press 4 for Foreigners Applying To Come To the US

Press 2 for Immigrant Visas (yeah, yeah - we know they're not really)

Press 3 for Family or Employer Based Visas

Press 2 for Fiance(e) visas

Press 0 for an Operator

He just got off the phone with them they say NVC Case Number has not been assigned yet and to give them at least 15 business days to do so.

So thank you all for your help, it's very much appreciated :)

One last tiny question, on the NoA2 there is an empty box title 'Priority Date' what is this?

NVC isn't going to send the P3 to you. They send it to London. You don't really need "packet 3" because it's nothing but a letter saying to get your instructions and forms here http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html That's it, you now have Packet 3. Be sure and click all the links because there's alot of further information on other pages.

When you fill out the forms, put your new address. Have a cover letter saying in big bold type Please Note: change of address.

Do you have to wait on the Packet 3 letter?

There is nothing magical about the letter like a secret code assigned to you. But if you send your visa application forms too early, they could become misplaced or returned to you. You will want your case to be logged in by the embassy so there is a file set up to receive your form submission.

Call DOS (202) 663-1225, press 1, then 0 to speak to a person.

Ask them if London has logged your case (give LND number). If they have, it is safe to mail in the forms.

There are quotas for some visa categories, meaning applicants have to wait in line until there is a visa available for them. This does not apply for your visa type :-)
