I-134 Questions, Real Estate Value?

Hello VJ'ers,

I'm filling out our I-134 and I have a few questions.

1. When putting in the real estate value, can you enter the amount which you originally bought the house at? Or it's current market value. I'm hoping we can just put in the original amount, because due to the recent housing crisis, my house is probably worth less than Half of what I paid for it.

If I do need to put in the current Market Value....

A. Is there a way to look it up, or must I pay for an "Estimate"?

B. Will underwater real estate negatively effect my I-134?

2. What is the Cash Surrender Value? I think I read somewhere it's not really necessary if you met the "Income is equal or greater than 125% Poverty Guideline"

Don't list it if your not going to use it towards the 125% you can use only your current income if it meets the requirements.

If you qualify on income then leave the asset portion blank. If you need to include your home then a recent appraisal done by a licensed professional must be submitted.
