Sample Single Status Package

I decided to post my single status package as a sample for others to see. Hopefully it will help someone doing a CR-1. Mine was accepted w/o any issues, they did ask for the affidavit of single status to be translated to Vietnamese,even though I used the bi-lingual form. I had that done in Vietnam. If you are marrying a Vietnamese national, make sure all the paperwork is in order. You will need your fiancee's CMND (Vietnamese ID #), address, full legal name, birthdate,and place of birth. For your fiancee's name, make sure it is stated exactly as per her cmnd & ho khau (family registry).

Make sure all information is correct, any mistake, either in your info or your fiancee's info, and they can deny it, and you may have to come back to the states to fix it, though, usually, it can be fixed in Vietnam. Mistakes will cost time and $$$ though. If you spot a mistake before you leave for Vietnam, see if you can get it fixed here, it will be much easier.

If you are short on time, you can use power of attorney, but not all provinces will accept this, so have your fiancee check first.

thanks for the post...yeah, I had someone help me with it and they did it incorrectly and it was a pain to get that fixed here in the states to have it in time before my trip...luckily it worked it though
