Congratulations Patita, im very happy for you, finally someone who did biometrics on 7/11/2011 got approved.... that gives me some hope.

there is no correlation between biometric dates unless they were all done at the same local office on the same day. approval depends on the speed at which the adjudicating officer works, the completeness of the application, and the alignment of the stars.

U have to be approved of removing conditions on ur card in order for u to be eligible for filing N_400, if the case is still in process u cant file for citizenship. I did call a lawyer and asked. Once u get the approval for ROC then u can apply for citizenship . IT is correct that they count from the day u got ur conditional ( 2years and 9 months) but u have to have the conditions removed.

And no, it's not 2 years and 9 months from the day you were granted Permanent Residence. It's 90 days to the 3rd anniversary of your Permanent Residence (if still married to the USC that sponsored you)or otherwise 90 days to your 5th anniversary.

In fact there have been cases posting on VJ where after 1 year there was no decision on the ROC so they filed for Naturalization and that forced USCIS to decision the ROC so they could process the Naturalization!

yea i know there's no correlation but it just make me feel better cause everybody who did biometrics on July 11, 2011 didnt get anything yet

It says it in the instructions so there IS "such language" and "evidence" proving Ambers point.

You don't HAVE to file for citizenship. There is no deadline. It is just that the window opens at 3 years minus 90 days so you can apply then, or months/years/decades later.

**Edit - it is important to note though that you can file at 3 years minus 90 days if you're still married to a USC. If you're not you need to wait for 5 years (minus 90 days).

ok guys now am over my 6 month timeline should i call or just leave it as it is as long as we know how VSC doing right now :wacko: :blink: :blush:

what i would do is wait for the next processing update from USCIS for VSC. it should be posted soon and if it still says 6 months, give a call. if it says 'april 4, 2011', thats what they will tell you when you call.

when it hits 7 months, then i'd give a call.

VSC seems to be averaging about 8 months. so prepare for another couple of months.
