So we finally did it!! My hubby and I are finally married!! After a long wait we're finally together. But now i'm a little lost on what to do next. First off, according to the K1 flow chart on VJ, it shows that we have to file for the I-485, but where and when in there do we file for the I-864?? don't we have to fill and I-864 as well? if so, when do we do that?? The hubby and I just want to get everything done ASAP so that he could finally work here in the states. Also, last year, I moved so my address filed with the K1 application is no longer current. Do I have to fill out an AR-11 for that or do I just go ahead and just fill in my new address with the I-485 application. i'm lost and not sure what steps i need to take. I hope someone could help me out. I would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for the reply. I think i will do that as well. i will just put my new address with the I-485. I had a question, with the I-485, did u include the I-864 with that? The money you issued for the I-485 was $1070 right?

Yes, I included the I-864 with I-485. Yes, $1070.00 is correct.

forms required

I 485 Petition to adjust status for alien relative

(supporting evidence)

I 693 Report of Medical

( there is a clause here so read carefully - if medical done within the last 12 months this isnt required, b/c its done, fill out the first part though )

G 325A Biographics

I 864 Affidavit of Support

( Supporting evidence )

Evidence of Eligibility

ie: they want a copy of NOA2 - marriage cert. - prev. divorce papers if needed - copy of I94 (its in the passport ) front and back

I 765 Application for permission to seek employment

Payment

Hope that helps :)

Oh, you were asking about address change .. you will notice that the alien relative is redoing a G325, this will have all the updated information on address that you were inquiring about.

I 693 Report of Medical

( there is a clause here so read carefully - if medical done within the last 12 months this isnt required, b/c its done, fill out the first part though )

I just wanted to point out that you do not send in a blank I-693 with only the part 1 information filled out by you. You need to take that form to a civil surgeon to make sure you have all your vaccinations current. They will give you any you are missing, and transcribe your vaccination records onto part 2-vaccinations section, and they will fill out and sign part 5. It will be sealed up by the CS, and that is what you will send in with your AOS. Parts 1, 2(vaccinations only) and part 5 are what are required for the I-693, if you had your medical in the last year.

Oh, and to the OP> another VJ member made a very good post listing everything you need for AOS. Check it out here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/235331-aos-ead-ap-from-k1-the-aussie-way-doc-list-included/

I just mailed my AOS today

<snip>

You didn't mention US passport sized pictures for the I-485 and I-765 but I assume you attached them? You also didn't mention the I-131 and corresponding attachments.

A previous person mentioned it but DO NOT send ONLY Part 1 of the I-693. Someone did this recently and was RFE'd for an ENTIRE new medical because they did this and USCIS just thought they forgot to include the rest of it. You create a problem where there wouldn't be one. If you need shots you get the vaccination transcription done, if you don't need shots then you include a copy of your DS-3025.
