Hi,

I live in minnesota and we filed the papers in may also(may23) it was received at the lockbox on may 25th. havent yet received NOA, and nor is the check cashed(LoL its the first time i am waiting for money to leave my bank account). Normally i have heared it is taking about 3-4months for the whole process to be finished. anyone from Mn who has filed before me and have the timeline would really help me figure out how long my files will take. also does anyone know whats the luckiest case, that is which case was the fastest to be received and approved. Also is one state quicker than the other or it dosent matter where you live?

Thanks

Hi j18,

Welcome aboard! I don't know about the lucky cases but mostly within 3 to 4 months and yes, different state varies. I guess if it's a big city, then there'll be a lot of applicants, therefore slows down the process. I think Minnesota should be the regular processing time, 3 to 4 months. Good Luck with the application! Hope you receive your NOAs soon. Lol... yea.. Please take my money already!

Best Wishes,

moSu

Well, I've got good news today. I received the e-mail and text message this morning from USCIS confirming that they have received the packet. That takes a lot of stress off. Now I'm just waiting for the checks to clear and to get the confirmation/receipts in the mail.

An updated timeline for my application:

03/24/2011: Married at the courthouse, Oktibbeha County, MS.

05/12/2011: AOS packet sent to Chicago Lockbox facility via USPS Priority Mail.

05/14/2011: (Day 1): Package delivered to lockbox.

06/03/2011: (Day 21): Email + text confirmation of receipt of forms.

Hi,

WoW that took almost 3 weeks just for them to send you a notice that they received the packet. That is a long time, I have seen others get the notice fairly quickly. Now this makes me nervous! I hope you process from now on moves more quickly!

Thanks

I've seen others in the forums that took a month or more just to get the notification. Personally, I'm just happy to know that the process has gotten started, and getting a response in less than a month is fine by me. I do hope everything else moves more quickly from here on out, and I hope you find out something soon as well.

Wow! That's great! Yours is fast.. I'm so happy for you.. I already know my AOS process will probably take more than 6 months to process since i'm filing from NYC, but I'm still very happy seeing other people's progress.. I logged onto VJ website anytime, everyday, whenever I have internet access. My hubby said i'm a die-hard fan of VJ now..I barely log onto USCIS since my case is going to take a while. I've been through this wait while applying for H1B.. It was devastating!

OK, just because I was really happy it was moving fast....I got a text/email on June 3rd saying they mailed me a RFE!!

I have to wait until I get it in the mail to see what it is about, I have no idea!! I'm glad it actually came early so I can deal with it as soon as possible. And since my biometrics is not until June 22nd, I don't think this RFE is gonna slow my process....Let's see what happens!!!

Wow Batya,

You've already got your interview date. Congratulations! Yours is moving very fast. Hope you'll get your EAD card soon, but like what the agent said if you get your GC, everything will be good from there. I'm sure i'll be feeling the same when i receive my interview notification - all emotions; excitement, happiness and definitely nervousness. I hope everything will be smooth for you from here.

Wishing you all the best,

moSu
