We got approval for our K1 Fiance Visa petition from NVC on Dec 10, 2010 and the paperwork was sent to New Delhi India for our Fiance Visa. The letter from NVC states that our expiration date is on April 17, 2010. New Delhi sent my Fiance packet 3 which she did not get, so we downloaded form their site and sent them many times but they said they did not receive, finally on March 12, 2011 they said they received our packet 3. I asked when our interview will be scheduled since our petition is expiring on April 17, their response was

---

As per the U.S Embassy please be assured that the Form DS-230 Part I sent by you has been received. They hope to schedule you in the forthcoming months as per the next available date. You may wish to log on at http://newdelhi.usem...view_dates.html to see the visa interview date for yourself.

---

I checked the link and our number is not in April 2011.

I then sent another email "our petition is going to expire on April 17, 2011. However we have not heard anything about the interview. Have our petition expiration date been extended? If yes, what is our new expiration date?"

They replied

---

Dear Applicant,

Thank you for writing to us.

Kindly log on to the given link in order to check the interview date: http://newdelhi.usem...view_dates.html

They are not giving me any straight answer. I am afraid that our petition has already expired and they did not do anything about. Since they are the ones to contact us and scheduled our interview and we did our part, do u think they have extended our petition expiration date? I sent an email to ivnd@state.gov but it came back undelivered. What should I do?

Petitions are automatically extended when you are at the embassy waiting for an interview.

We did not get Packet 4 in the mail, maybe got lost or something. I have been checking with the embassy's call center but the bad thing is that they take a week to check with the embassy and get back to you. I sent an email asking our the stats and interview date on April 15. They replied on April 25 that our interview is on May 02 and now we do not have enough tome for medical and submitting papers to the nearest VFS as it has to be done 7 days before the interview. What are our option? Get the medical, take the receipt and all paper to the interview?

Well the first thing you need is your interview letter because without it you cannot get into the embassy and probably cannot even get medical. I believe you will need to physically go to the embassy window and get the letter. This is pretty lame from the US embassy...I am guessing we are in the same boat..please keep us posted of any more developments...Thanks and good luck...

I checked the embassy website today for May interview schedules and my fiance's interview is on May 13th. I have NOT yet received packet 4 either. This is really really lame from the US embassy in New Delhi. I will try to get the interview letter somehow to get the medical done, etc. Any suggestions from anyone are welcome.. Thanks.
