Yes, i think you should follow the operator's advice and resend the docs as the only way to know the docs actually got into the mailbox is thru the auto response.

As for the IV fees, the same thing happened with us last week. just be a little patient and check every so often. Mine appears like two days after it showed available to pay. i think it is a glitch with thoer system. good luck.

Definitely will do that. I also resent the AOS package an hour ago again and still no auto response. But then 5 min ago I received an email as a response to my police certificate inquiry, but the email had NOTHING to do with the police certificate, and was a summary of my AOS payment (from last week) and instructions to pay the IV bill (which like i said it won't let me) and now it says to email the AOS documents! LOL

Deep breath.... it's a quirky system and I'm trying not to fuss over it LOL

Hmmmm, curious why the auto response email does not come up. i have actually emailed both packages to them like three times. the first time as soon as i paid my fees. the second time when i called and confirmed my OPTIN had been accepted and the third time when i received the OPTIN email confirmation. (Yes i am paranoid too  ). email from NVC are just a jumbled mess. they are so back in thier system they just get us confused. I say keep sending the AOS email till you get a response. An operator told my hubby to send both packages around the same time, that this helps for faster processing but still waiting to see how true that is. You would only be able to do this tho if you are done with the DS 260 so not till then.

For those who have done or doing electronic processing - How are you sending documents that are required as original or certified copies? Sending scanned copies as PDF ok?

For example Police certificate.....!

Yes, you just scan the original or certified copy and send it in the PDF package.

You should read the wiki I wrote specifically for EP and online forms. The link is in my signature.

No, if you have a co-sponsor, household size will be minimum 3: petitioner, beneficiary, and sponsor. If your co-sponsor is married, has children, or other dependents, then that number will go up.

That is not correct, a co-sponsor will not add the petitioner to their household, only beneficiary, self, and dependents. It is clear in the intructions. The co sponsor is not supporting the petitioner, therefore they are not part of the household. If you are talking about a household memeber, yes the petitioner will be included, but not in the case of a co sponsor.

What is meant by certified copies? I told my wife in Romania to get certified copies and she asked if this means "notarized", or what?

Yes certified is simular to notarized. Typically a notary is verifying that you signed a document (notarizes).... but... "certified" is simular... it's a stamp (or sticker) and a signature proving that the copy is an exact duplicate of the original.

Darnell..

I want to cry!!! so, when I called the NVC two weeks after we emailed everything and then we got a RFE for our marriage certificate and our police certificate. However, the marraige certificate was sent along with the DS130 and the police certificate was sent along with the DS230. So I spoke with the lawyers and they said just to go ahead and send it again. Not only it took them TWO weeks to just to EMAIL the SAME thing again, they also sent in the wrong stuff. I guess for China, they need a certificate from PSB (Gona An Ju) instead of (Pai Chu Suo, the smaller branch). My lawyer sent something in from Pai Chu Suo and not Gong An Ju. It makes me mad because I told them to submit the Gong An Ju notarization two weeks ago but the lawyer said it is not needed. So now, we are back to square one. How could the law firm call them selfs law firms when they do not know what is going on and it takes them TWO weeks to send an email when all the information is already there??? I HATE my lawyers.

Oh, you're right, sorry. Whenever I see "sponsor", I always think of it being a household member. I should have clarified myself since the poster didn't mention WHO the sponsor was, whether it was a family member or not. My bad! blush.gif

I know exactly how you feel. We once too had a lawyer. She did nothing but collect her fee and had her office call me each month to make payments. She never had time to take my call and had her stupid staff call me when they had no idea about my case. Having to explain my case each time. Having to ask them to inquiry about my case and following up with them. It was more stressful for me than having any relief. It seemed the lawyer wasn't to busy to see when she wanted me to retaine her. Our case sat in a local office for 6 months for no reason at all. Only when I worked my fingers off emailing, going to info-passes and inquiring everybody the local office, USCIS and our state senator that it finally got sent back to USCIS to be adjudicated. Within two week of been transfered back we got our approval. Right before starting the NVC process, I decided to not continue any communication with the lawyer. Sent in all the required forms so that we would have full charge and control about the process. I really think lawyers take to many cases that they can handle and dont give each case or client the required attention. I speak from self experiance since I worked for a criminal attorney for 5 years. My advice is too be on the lawyer a**.

When you say you got an email saying they had received your optin, do you mean it was the auto response? Or was it the acceptance email?

You won't get a reply on your AOS package. The only thing you get is an auto response.

And don't expect the AVR to change for another 2 weeks or so.

Good luck Disha!

I've heard nothing yet either. Our case was 'complete' on the 30th March, and their automated voice system still says 'complete'. I'll be ringing up the NVC on Friday to speak to a human if we've not heard anything by then. :)
