So my husband went to Dr. Randall T. Lee in Toronto to get his medical and boy do we regret! The first time everything went smoothly but now it has been over 10 days and they still have not given us our medical records. Everytime we call they've given us different information. What to do???! This is this is the only thing holding us from sending our package to Montreal! ahhh!

I'm confused.

Sending your package to Montreal? Your profile says K3. Why would you not do a CR1 if you have to interview in Montreal anyhow? You have no timeline?

Seems there are a few k3's..........does not make much sense..but many do not find VJ early in their journey.................

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

http://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/ Print it out and fill it out prior to going there to save you time...and make sure u 2 pieces of ID

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

I wasn't sure which type of visa we applied for since it has been a while.

We applied for the I-130 in 2009...we went for an interview in Montreal Jan 2014 and my husband was denied and was told to fill out the 601...a couple of months later we were then told to fill out the I-212. We were approved for both Nov/2014. We had to do all the medical, police reports to send to the Montreal embassy.

Ah you needed a waiver and had to update the documents and medical. The visa should be a IR1 (depending on length of marriage.) Glad to know your journey is finally at an end.

Thank you! But, it feels like this is a never ending wait! How long does it take to receive a Visa package from Montreal? It's been 3 weeks so far. What can I do to speed things up?

Interview and approval for IR-1 was on Jan 8th. Still waiting for a waybill #. Should I just wait for the email, check on dhl.ca or call. Getting impatient..but it's technically only been 3 business days.

Interview and approval for IR-1 was on Jan 8th. Still waiting for a waybill #. Should I just wait for the email, check on dhl.ca or call. Getting impatient..but it's technically only been 3 business days.

I went to the interview on the 11th of December 2014, was approved (I-130). I'm still waiting for even an update. The CEAC shows that I am ready to schedule my interview. So, no information there...

It has been over a month now, no signs of my passport. I did call the consulate, the lady that picked up the phone said that delays were usually 1 to 2 months since the Montreal consulate now handles all of Canada.

Anyhow, keep me/us posted.. Since there's no way to know if someone has gone wrong, I'd like to know if someone is getting the same times as me.

Wow! A month! That's a long time. At my interview they said it should take 1-2 weeks. Just checked CEAC now - yesterday the site showed 'Issued' and that the visa was in Administrative Processing. Today it still shows 'Issued' but is now quote:

'Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than five (5) working days, please go to http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courrier_information to track your courier waybill'

Went on dhl.ca and my waybill # still not showing up but i'm thinking it's imminent.

I'm not sure how to help you to speed things up faster. I wonder if you should hound the consulate more?

My husband is driving up on the 21st and we are driving through the Peace Arch Border Crossing..only one more hurdle left!

I-130: Nebraska Service Center- submitted Feb 3,2014, approved July 30, 2014.

NVC received: Aug 22 2014

Case number, IIN available: Sept 3 2014

DS-261 submitted: Sept 3 2014

AOS submitted via email: Sept 5, 2014 (received email receipt from NVS Sept 8)

AOS fee paid: Sept 4 2014

IV documents submitted via email: Sept 15 2014 (received email receipt from NVC Sept 18)

IV fee invoice received and IV fee paid: Oct 2 2014

DS-260 submitted: Oct 5 2014

Case complete Oct 31 (no checklist) Electronic processing; IV package emailed before IV invoice received

Interview scheduled Nov 13, 2014

Interview Dec 17, 2014- denied for proof of domicile- 221G

Jan 30 2015: proof of domicile sent

Feb 5; Feb 19- status updated on CEAC, still says Administrative processing.

March 13, 2015- US citizen spouse moved back to California, sent consulate confirmation that domicile now reestablished.

March 30, 2015 - email from consulate stating that they have adequate proof of domicile, still in AP.

Status updates (without enquiry from anyone): April 27, May 6, May 7, May 13

May 13- Ready

May 14 Issued.

POE May 15, 2015

ELIS fee paid May 30

Green card production ordered July 23
