Does anyone know of a good translation service in the ottawa area i can use for one of my doccuments. Really am not sure about all these ones online. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated . Thanks.

Anyone fluent in both languages can do the translation. Type translations in the search block to find example form.

Since I don't live in the area I have no clue but I know a good translator online.

Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

Certification by Translator

I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.

When I said documants like BC has to be certified I meant the translation of. But thanks for the info. I thought certified translations, as the company that I provided a link to does, had to be a registered translator. I didn't know anyone could translate and just by signing with the wording you provided be accepted as certified. Thanks!

Thanks for all the info. I just sent the doc i need translated to a couple of places and am waiting for a quote. I think the translation has to be certified by the translating agency, and they have to be certified and registered under the correct organisation. Please correct me anyone if i am wrong.

I've used this site for a flat rate. Exceptional quality and fast. I'll use them again.

no translation agency needed.

IF you follow THE FORM and FORMAT of a translator's statement, you'll find that ANYONE can do it.

Hopefully you can find someone within a 10 mile drive (that you know, or know of) that can do it for you ?

I opted for a certified translator (ATA) who was also a notary public. Had our documents (marriage license and wife's birth certificate) translated and the translations notarized for $25 and each copy thereafter was $3. You don't need to spend alot to get both, just shop around a little bit.

There is no need nor requirement to have this done in this way. There is also no need nor requirement to have it notarised. Notaries verify the signature on a document & have nothing to do with the content. It serves no purpose to notarise these documents.

Of course all of this is up to you. If you have the money to do what isnt required but find its better or easier for you I would do it that way.

Thanks for all the help guys. VJ is such a life (and money) saver. I actually have just one page to translate so i dont think it will will be a problem.

I would check the closest University. I'm sure there are a few graduate students that would like the extra cash.

99.999% chance that there is a Translation Service a stones throw from the Embassy. Every US Embassy/Consulate that I have been to had tons of them just outside the perimeter.

Thanks Kira L. for the link . I just had the doc translated and it was quick and cheap. Recommend it to anyone who need a fast certified translation done.
