That's it, correct from A to Z.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

Seems adequate to me, after all, the USCIS is owned and operated by the federal government, and as long as you are sending in your joint federal tax returns, the employees of the USCIS are assured of getting their paychecks. But probably wouldn't hurt to also send in your joint phone and cable bill as a good share of that is for federal excise taxes they also get.

But will your IO be happy with that? Ours sure wasn't and the key word is JOINT. Like joint ownership of legal goods like a home, a lease, vehicles, pets, certainly can't prove joint ownership of a toaster. But depending upon your state and defining your marriage in terms of their divorce laws, your spouse will also share joint ownership of that toaster. But the USCIS never gets involved with state laws.

Joint bank accounts, investments, any form of insurance in particular health as health insurers won't let you add a spouse until they are damned sure you are married to that spouse. Other legal documents proving you live at the same address would also be helpful. Now recently, if you had any traffic violations, would be good to bring in proof they were paid. Even though all public records show they were paid.

We were pre-warned about bringing in a joint utility bill, easiest for me to get was from our electrical company, only local utility left in our town. They don't give a damn as to whose name is on that bill, if not paid, put a lean against the owner/s of the property. But the USCIS apparently doesn't know that, they occasionally get a bug up their butts. But ha ha, my wife pulled it out during her interview, so a decision could be made. Too bad we weren't pre-warned about bring proof of paid minor traffic violations. Really don't care if you got a traffic violation or not, just care, if you did, you paid the fine. Also had to bring in a secondary form if identification, like a state ID or drivers' license, guess the green card they issued is not enough.

All this can be brought in for your interview, if you do, they won't ask to see it, if you don't, will have to go back and experience a long delay. Just speaking from experience.

Seems like you posted to the wrong thread!...This is for naturalization and not for removal of conditions(at this stage you have to provide everything JOINT).

Our interview experience...

We arrived about 30 mins before the scheduled time. Passed thro' metal detectors, our interview letter was collected and in about 10 mins our names were called. Only my spouse was allowed to go-in.

Went thro' all the questions from N-400, asked if we were married all the while? separated anytime? filed taxes jointly?..did not ask to see any of the supporting documents we carried.

Following questions were asked:

1. What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?

2. Name of the speaker of the house of Representatives?

3. Who lived in American before the Europeans arrived?

4. When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?

5. Name one of the two longest rivers in the US?

6. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

and followed by a short written test.

Received form N-652 and a note that "A decision cannot yet be made about your application"

I guess we just have to wait now.
