Hi everyone:

I have a question about 125% of income for household. It's just me, so that's one person. I qualify as one person for 125% of income, however, with my spouse, now my household is 2 people, and we must meet the 2 people requirement? So you add one more to your household? I'm sure this is an obvious question, just wanted to know how it went for you all.

Has anyone had severe problems with this?

Thanks!

If it's just you and your spouse, then yes, you have to use the household size of 2.

Yes you are required to meet the income level at 125% so based on the information provided you will need to make $18, 212. IF he has a child that will join you will need to add $4, 675.

Thanks, so there is no 2011 poverty guidelines up yet, correct?

Can we also qualify if we receive payments from stocks, that is income, correct?

I meet the 125% line with stocks and income combined only.. that should suffice, right?

Correction. They WERE up and were revoked. It's the only explanation for why they were there and are now gone.

They are still running on 2010 numbers. That's what USCIS says so trust that.

Ok thanks I provided the 2010 numbers but just didnt seem correct but glad to know it is being used.. will definitely help the border line sponsors.

I double-checked the USCIS news site too. There's no notice of the increase. I think what might have happened is someone got a bit too "excited" and posted them early... betcha someone out there is laughing about the confusion is caused :S

That's not enough information. Income is income and assets are assets. If you're receiving dividends, from stocks or interest payments from bonds or any kind of distribution from a trust fund, that's income. If you're liquidating assets to live on, that's not income except for any portion that's a capital gain. Need more detail.

In general, if it doesn't show on line 22 of the 1040 form, it's not income. For assets, you need three bucks to make up of one dollar in income shortfall as a minimum.

I have a question about getting a sponsor. If I have a sponsor who is single with no dependents and my spouse and I live at the same address as this sponsor does that mean

I must make 125% for 2 people. My sponsor must make 125% for one person.

I must make 125% for 2 people and my sponsor make 125% for 2 people (herself and my spouse).

Me and my sponsor combined must make 125% for 3 people?

Thanks!

It takes more than living at the same address to be counted as a "household member" but if a household member you combined need to qualify for three. If she's just a "joint sponsor" she must qualify for two. What is the relationship between you and the sponsor?
