Having all sorts of fun with the Manila embassy

How did you get it resolved?

The embassy told my fiance to go to the BPI in Manila. They said its not their problem and to go to the embassy. Embassy says she needs to pay the full amount.

It let me schedule the interview though when we thought all we had to do to fix the situation was go to the bank so I did it in advance.

It lets me open the file to print her appointment card but she can't open it and I can open it if I go to the link from her email account.

Any ideas what to do with the fee and what's going on with her not being able to open the link?

Oh and for more fun since i didn't know she was going to the embassy I didn't tell her to not take her phone. So they held it at the gate and of course lost it.

Well figured out the issue with the scheduling part at least now to work on the payment issues. Oh and I guess the first two lines of the previous post make no sense. I changed the topic title but not the way the topic starts.

Paid at BPI. They told her the wrong fee... it flows correctly from there.

Let me get this straight.. she paid the wrong fee for k1 visa? what branch did that happen at? she needs to call and complain and be firm about it because when I paid, they asked me, for what visa, and then told me the rate, i don't know how they could've made that mistake. did she have her letter from the US Embassy with her? did she pay more or less than what she was supposed to? whatever happens don't pay twice for something that is not your error. does she still have the payslip? if she has the payslip and the embassy letter then she has a right to complain i would think :)

and they probably did not lose her phone... they stole it.. sigh.. that sucks, im sorry.. :(

hope you sort it out!!!

Did she present the letter from the embassy?did she tell the bank what visa is she paying for? The bank will give her the right form according to what kind of visa is she paying for?

How did she lost her phone? When u leave ur stuff at the guard, u have to leave ur id as well and u will claim that id with ur stuff when u get out of the premises.

Guard's found the phone so that's good.

She's not the first to have this problem with the payment but the other thread I found the guy never explained how it got fixed. In their case his fiance tried to argue that they were asking for the wrong payment before giving in and paying the wrong amount. Looking at the guys timeline they fixed it but I don't know how. I've just been getting the run around so far.

And yes she brought all that with her. And yes they still had her do everything wrong.

The only thing I've gathered from this so far is for those who are going to be paying. Pay through online and if they must go in person tell them the expected fee and if its anything else tell them to walk out and try again later.

Sorry about that.. if she brought the letter and she was k1 then BPI is at fault.. I hope she remembers who the teller was.. complain and complain to the manager! it is their fault
