Hi Guys,

Im here again. I need some piece of advice about booking ticket online. I found this site Expedia, OneTravel and Orbitz and they have a pretty deal with prices. Does anyone bought a ticket there and having no problems?

I have used orbitz once, it was ok.

I have used travelocity.com often for trips.

Only used expedia one time for cheaper tickets, didn't really like them much.

I've used orbitz and i didn't have any problems but i have read where others have had problems. I usually use those sites to find what airline is the cheapest and then i go directly to the airline's website to actually book the ticket, this usually saves me $20 or so in fees that the original site would have charged.

We used onetravel.com & it was good. Just remember that you will have to pay the travel tax at the airport. That is an extra 1620 Php IIRC along with the terminal use fee of 750 Php.

16 March 2012 Sent I-751 package from Aviano AB, Italy.

29 March 2012 Received everything back...wrong fee. thought we didn't have to pay biometrics since we were sending fingerprint cards and passport photos.

30 March 2012 Sent everything out again from Aviano AB, Italy.

10 April 2012 Check cashed

17 April 2012 Received NOA1 dated 6 April.

06 Dec 2012 Received 10 yr green card. Letter said it was approved 28 November 2012.

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Here's one that I found in another thread. They look pretty good compared to the rest. Calls are cheap so might want to give them a ring. St Raphael Travel. May get you a good price on a one way or a round trip in advance. :dance: Best of luck!!! Happy travels..........

Orbitz right now has a round trip ticket to manila for about $1,200 or so , via South Korea on Korean air

Here's one site that combines most into one and they have the final , "out the door" price listed for each airline. It does the searching for you and tells you which airline and major agency . Trip Advisor This will get you in the ballpark but I've heard that niche agencies in the malls or like St. Raphaels have 1st time immigrant specials. Buyer beware as always!!!

as far as getting one way tickets from Manila to US, try either St. Raphael's Travel as posted above or another good on is Reli Tours. I bought my tickets with St. Raphael's Travel about 2 weeks ago. unfortunately, they don't do online booking or ticket payments. so if you plan on using a credit card, the cardholder has to come into their office in person to process the card. i was weary at first about dealing with a travel agency i can't personally walk into, so i had my wife go to their office in Greenhills to talk to the agent i was corresponding with. i was working with Tessa from St. Raphael's and she was very helpful to my wife and i. i was communicating with her via email and she responded within 24 hours. i recommend them for 1st time immigrant ticket purchase.

as an addition to my post above, some local travel agencies in the Philippines (like Reli and St. Raphael's) have the special promo price called 1st Time Immigrant fares. depending on the time of the year, these promo fares are way cheaper than going directly to the airlines.

also, if you are immigrating with children, another money saver is getting a Reduced Travel Tax certificate from the Dept. of Tourism. this takes 50% off the travel tax for children. it's not really much...but i figured all of us already spent a lot for the whole process so saving a little is a breath of fresh air.

and no there's no minor children coming with them...but that's good to know.
