Envolve Your Congressman/Expeditious Processing

Hi! I just wanted to share with others some possible ways to get some attention brought to your case; especially if it appears your case is being prolonged. I recently had to file a expeditious processing at the NVC, because of my case being in there office for 5 mths. My case had been there since September & fees had been all paid by November 1. They lost the original paperwork for my DS230 and had me resend it back to them. Holidays delayed mail some, but also snow storms in the city did too. It seemed as they were not taking care of things as needed. I went through supervisors but it just didn't seem to be anough.

Thank God for other VJ Members, because I was giving an idea of the expeditious processing which I had not heard of before, and it was worth trying. I emailed NVC basically an hardship letter and faxed the congressman's office all of the pass emails with a description of all that had been going on, on Januarary 26. NVC emailed me and told me they will start the process. Then, they also enformed me by the Jan 28 of more things needed that they did not get from USCIS in my file. I was fearious with this, because I knew they should of had everything they needed to have finshed my file long before. I didn't like that, but I proceeded with getting things requested. Feb 1 the lady that is incharge of immigrant cases at my nearest congressman's office called me. She told me NVC had just finished processing my case and was about to send it to the consulant office. She also adviced me if they have not gave me notice about it a week from now that I need to contact her. Feb 2. the NVC sent me a checklist to send them all these things & that confused me so much,because I knew what I was told by the congressman's office. I called confirmed this with her and she told me that it was possible that it was the checklist they had started before she spoke with them but she would call them back. Well, I had my husband continue on with getting all all items just incase NVC had lied. My husband mailed forms and checklist out on Feb 3 to NVC. Later that evening I checked my email and of course just like NVC to be off task, but there was an email,processing finished and sent to the consulant office. Guys take advantage of this and go through whatever means necessary to get your love ones here. This is our lives and our families; and time is of essence. People are not going to be as fast as you would about your problems or situations, if you don't push them. Hope this was helpful. Good Luck!

thanks for sharing this info, because i am planning to contact my congressman tommarow, cause we have been put in admin process for 5 months, and we still have no idea why..
