Guns are like magnets. They attract each other. Most people that I know who own guns are hunters. Deer rifles and such. Maybe a Mossberg for home protection(like me). Most will never be in a situation where they will need to use them against a human being. Most will never have the mental breakdown that would cause them to start a killing spree.

To ignore the fact that we have an issue with gun violence is pretty ignorant. Does anyone really need a thirty round clip? I ran into a friend who is a DPS officer yesterday coming home from church. He not only wishes that those types of clips were illegal, he actually used the words "poor shots", "nra imbeciles", and "Lord help us all." Sent a chill down my spine.

in our state that kind of clip is not legal.....cant use it for hunting.......and if your defending your life why would you need it........if your such a poor shot that you need 30 rounds maybe a gun is not the right tool these types of people should use for self protection.....with that being said if our country was ever invaded i would be the first person lined up to purchase or steal one of those clips any place i could find it!

we have a large family we have at least one person in our family that should at no time ever depend on a gun for self protection not because that person has a mental problem but because that person is afraid of guns and would prolly end up shooting herself because of it or get it taken away from her by an intruder and be shot with her own gun.

I hunt and I have guns for self protection in our state you can carry a gun with out a permit as long as it is not concealed........to get a concealed weapons permit you have to take classes.....once you pass and receive the concealed weapons permit it is attached to your drivers license if your ever pulled over for speeding or just general reason for traffic violation the officer instantly knows you probably have a weapon concealed in your car that puts you at danger if the officer is nervous

we have pretty good laws in our state for guns im not so stupid as to believe that the criminals go thru all that we have to to legally own a gun and it would be a shame to have to give up our rights to own a gun because the criminals would be the only armed general population in our state

I grew up around guns and have a healthy respect for them i have seen the destruction that they do when hunting i hope that in my life time there is never a law that allows just the criminals to be armed.....

No, Chuck... what is important is that people understand. Not just foaming at the mouth to be right. Clip... magazine... its semantics. Which tends to be the argument of the desperate.

Where are his personal thoughts? He said lawmakers shouldn't have a secure venue on our dime. That's a fact. Why should Safeway have extra security just because an elected official is there?

Don't the politicians work for us? Imagine if your company was having a meeting and the boss was coming to talk to you. Would he need extra security? Why or why not?

Sentence 2 is the most disturbing to you yet paying for extra security doesn't bother you at all? Do you even understand the concept of govt. officials working FOR the people?

And he is abundantly clear, he views the 2nd amendments use in politics the way most folks think of voting or signing a petition. Slim you might want to reconsider who "gets it."

I didn't see him doing that at all. I saw you saying that's what he was doing.

You somehow implied he was using the 2A to justify assasinating a local politician. He never did that. You did.

Having concerns about the proliferation, the size, the type, the tragically destructive nature of guns in the hands of the mentally challenged, folks with piss poor judgment, and people who think they are fine tools for handling political differences and not getting the 2nd amendment are two very different issues slim.

They are different issues but what you do is insinuate passing laws prohibiting some of the things you listed will put a stop to this kind of crime. It can't. Murder is already illegal. Guns are already illegal to use in the commission of murder. You can't make that "more" illegal yet some of you continue to try by taking away small pieces of our liberty in the name of making us all safer. It is impossible for your "fix" to work.
