Mali ata ako, when i got that email i assume that's the date when the case got completed so it was just two weeks ago but it says on the letter it was July 2013. I'm confused, sensya na. But it took time for them to approve my petition coz i think it got caught up with the heavy load of petitions when Obama announced the special instruction similar to "dream act". Tagal din coz it has been more than a year already and we thought it's gonna get delayed again with the government shut down.

Is this for your mom right? what date is the interview? getting slow today, not unlike before they are very fast...haayzzz.. hope we can get an early interview for my mom.. thank u for the information..

Not sure what kind of news they are, but any news are good news to me! I got this email today from USCIS:

"Your Case Status: Initial Review

On October 17, 2013, we transferred this case I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions provided on the notice. We will notify you by mail when a decision is made. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at1-800-375-5283."

In my history with immigration I never received any emails like this.. Does this mean that my case was moved to my local office? I dont know, but somehow it means to me they are finally working on it.. What are you guys thoughts?

Sounds like a local office, yes.

I wish I got an update. Mine has been sitting since May 17 when I filed change of address. Looks like I'm about 3 weeks behind you. Maybe I'll get something...

Hopefully! I know the waiting time is terrible..

How did you change your address? online or with the form? I had to do the same thing when I was applying for my green card and it was so much trouble. My changed my address online and sent the form in, but still my notices came to my old address. Thankfully I had put a forward in my mail and it came to me, however when they sent me my card, they would not deliver it. Long story short, I had to call the offices until I talked to a 2 tier officer who told me my address was never changed in the system. He changed it for me. I had to do this twice because my address still did not show.

Hopefully everything will be ok with yours. Just be prepared because they misplace information a lot. =(

I changed it online. No need for the form for US citizens. They updated it right away, it's in my online account. I have not had any notices deliverd to the new address yet, but nice to know they DO get forwarded.

When I checked my status yesterday, this is what it said too! They finally noticed my application after 7 1/2 months!!

Thank you! My local office is in Charlotte, NC. I know how you feel waiting for this petition that seems like forever. Mama asking me every time we talk if how long she have to wait? Can't give her a definite answer. I would really like her to be here on Christmas but I don't think it will happen.

I got a notification today that my mom's case was transferred to another facility, that they will mail us an explanation as to why it was transferred.

Anyone here got their case transferred and got an approval few days or a week later? Thanks!
